Dr. Kearns and his staff are outstanding in so many ways. They communicate very well and care so much for my recovery. I feel very fortunate to have them as my surgeon and assistants.

Dr. Kearnes is a fabulous surgeon. He exceeded all my expectations with my hip replacement and with my other hip pain. i recommend him to my sister for her knee she will be calling.

Dr. Kearns replaced both of my hips, one in 2015 and the other in 2017. I suffered from terrible osteoarthritis and was in bad shape. At our first meeting I felt very comfortable with him, he explained in detail to me what I could expect. The hospital on Main Street has one of the best records when it comes to infections which is one of Dr. Kearns biggest concerns. Both surgeries were successful, rehab required with the right hip and that went smoothly. I recommend him to anyone who is needing hip or knee replacement, cannot say enough good about this man, and he also has a good sense of humor! Carole Menninger

I had a hip replacement by Dr Kearns in 2016. I went into septic shock during surgery. Rushed to Methodist Operating Room for emergency surgery. They removed my colon, which had died due to lack of blood supply during surgery, ischemic colon. I was is ICU for two weeks, and two more months in the hospital plus 8 months of physical therapy. Although dr Kearns visited me in ICU, his office never called in the long months that followed

One of the worst exams. I was told I had severe atrophy and do home exercises that I could not do. When I called, I was told to try harder. He failed to review MRI of the hip done previously demonstrating a cyst compressing the nerve. I have lost 90% of the nerve function due to the delay.

I am so happy to have been referred to Dr. Kearns for my total hip replacement. I suffer from congenital bilateral hip dysplasia and was told years ago that I would require total hip replacement. It took me a long time to schedule this as I was afraid to go under the knife. After much research, I had been referred to Dr. Kearns who I found to be an excellent surgeon with an excellent track record from his patients. We talked at length of what was to be expected, etc, and the surgery was done and I was up and walking that very same day (with assistance, of course). Within two weeks I was using a cane and even driving. I am now scheduled to have the right one done within a month. I realize this may take a little longer to drive, but seeing as how well I have recovered from the left, I have a better understanding of what to expect on the right. Dr. Kearns and his staff have been overwhelming wonderful to me and I would definitely recommend him and Texas Orthopedic Hospital for… this type of care. He has a dry sense of humor that I adore, but he's also very professional and thorough.

Was abrupt, but knowledgeable. He has a reputation of being sarcastic and acts superior. I went to him for help. He was not helpful, and seemed to only want to operate. Not very likeable. Jumped to a lot of inaccurate conclusions Would rather go somewhere else. Seemed very rushed and made me feel like a number.
