Dr. Richard S. Matulewicz, MD

We saw Dr. Matulewicz at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and we recommend him in the strongest terms. He is kind, attentive, deeply knowledgeable, and patient; he invited every sort of question and answered each in lucid detail. He has the special ability to be serious and thorough in the consultation while maintaining warmth and a gentle responsiveness to the patient's concerns, anxieties, and even sense of humor. (In other words, he's a *person* who sees the patient as a person also.) He is clearly an excellent surgeon; there were absolutely no complications, and the incision is healing beautifully. Dr. Matulewicz has been meticulous about calling with updates, both pre-op and post-op, and is generous in speaking with family as well as the patient (who wants family involved). We should add that office morale is great as well: the nursing and office staff are notably kind, gracious, and resourceful. Going to Dr. Matulewicz has made our cancer experience a great deal easier than we… could have hoped, and we are grateful that we were referred to him.
