Dr. Richard Noren, MD

Terrible. After an accident he wanted to put me on a long term drug. I have consistent pain but this was not related at all to the accident. I asked about other options and he told me they only could be more aggressive like surgery. He came in pre-judging the situation and was completely wrong and took no time to listen to his patient. Do you want to be pre-judged by your doctor when in pain? I saw another doctor a few days later and they were friendly, understanding, and gave me multiple short term non-drug - non-invasive solutions which got me over the hurdle and now I am feeling better thanks to them. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

Dr. Noren is the only one I trust. He has been my doctor for years. He cares about me, my family, and he has helped me with my back pain. Thanks to him I have remained active. He is the best.

Dr. Noren spent time explaining treatment options, he spent time listening to me and my wife about my pain issues. I have been treating with him for years and have referred several friends who were happy with his care too.

I was sent to Dr. Noren by my primary care doctor. When I met with Dr. Noren, he said he had not heard from my primary care doctor. He badgered me about me showing up there; I was close to tears because I've had multiple spine surgeries, had great back pain and was extremely hopeful this pain management doctor could help me. Dr. Noren did not examine me; he never looked to see if I had been a patient at IB&J for over 25 years. I advised who my primary doctor was, that he had sent me for care. Dr. Noren made zero attempt to clear up this misunderstanding, including reaching out to my doctor. He leaned forward and angerly told me he would not give me opiods. I had not asked for any med or treatment; I thought I was walking into a situation where my doctor had prepped the pain doctor. I was embarrassed at being accused of wrongdoing. It was a total waste of my time to drive the 17 miles just to see him. He was horrible. HE DID, HOWEVER, BILL MEDICARE FOR A 40 MINUTE APPT WITH ME.… FRAUD!!

The absolute WORST dr I have seen in my life!!!! He doesn't even have his own office, he rents a room out of Illinois Bone and Joint! And they ought to be ashamed of themselves for referring patients to Noren and letting him in the front door! As I have found out from REAL and REPUTABLE pain specialists, Noren injected me visit after visit dangerously! And when he did inject me in the IBJI Surgery Suite he caused a cerebrospinal fluid leak! Then refused to see me in recovery and answer our desperate phone calls when we knew something was seriously wrong! By the time I was able to get ahold of my Primary Care dr who sent me IMMEDIATELY TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM, it was too late to fix Noren's damage! I am PERMANENTLY disabled and have been in SEVERE pain for 2 years! I hope Noren, IBJI and IBJI dr Dr Ami Khotari who referred me to Noren read this: you have truly made life not worth living. Everyday since that "simple procedure" where Noren screwed up and I have suffered torturous,… debilitating pain thus causing severe depression! Thanks alot for truly, truly ruining my life!

We are writing to vent our dissatisfaction with Doctor Richard Noren and his staff. I was a new patient of Dr. Noren's and had a appointment. He examined me and ordered a MRI and X-ray, plus, pain medication. Unfortunately, the pain medicine did nothing for my pain. I called Doctor Noren's office on Monday and spoke with his assistant Mindy asking to talk to the doctor. She advised me he was out of the office until Wednesday. I explained my painful situation to her and she became aggressive and rude towards me. I told her I just wanted to know from the doctor if I could take more of my medicine or perhaps ibrprofen for my pain. She repeatedly stated the doctor is out of the office till Wednesday. I called back on Tuesday still in pain and AGAIN requested to speak with the doctor or to page him and have him call me. Subsequently, I called my primary doctor who talked to me and advised me on my correct medicine intake.

Basically I felt like it was all about the money and not about the accurate diagnosis. I also find it odd that he does a lot of paid for exams like workmans Comp and he does not take Blue Cross. Funny you can get in for a new appointment in 7 days if you are W/C, but regular insurance is a month out.

I've been seeing Dr. Noren for almost 5 years. He's been wonderful. Nothing but positives. I would recommend.

he is a doctor that is in the workmans comp pocketbook. I went to see him for a specific injury on my body. He examined every other part of my body except for the area he was supposed to be doing the examination. He also told me that he would not discuss with me my injuries are my prognosis. But he did tell the insurance company nurse what he thought before reading any other doctors papers. He is very rude very obnoxious very pompous. He came in to start testing my senses by poking me with a paperclip. One of the worst if not the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor in my 50 years of life. Just goes to show you there are doctors out there that are in the insurance companies pockets deep. he is the perfect example of a insurance company doctor...STAY AWAY from Dr. Noren..
