Dr. Richard Albert Pellerin, MD

DR. Pellerin has helped me with my medical from a new student Pilot 35 years ago. He has been very professional and always helps navigate the FAA system. I will continue to use his services and fully recommend him to new Pilots and anyone that needs help with a complicated medical.

Dr. Pellerin has helped me obtain my medical with friendly service for over 25 years. He takes a personal interest in each of his patients. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Pellerin has guided me thru a 35 year plus career where he kept me flying through challenging times. He's done 30,000 plus medicals and is a pilot himself having made 50 plus trips to Alaska and back. His office might seem a bit unconventional be he's well respected by the FAA and knows how to help a pilot when they need it most.

I have used him for many years. Yes, he is eccentric and sometimes doesn't have the greatest bedside manor but, he is extremely experienced in the FAA medical system. So, he can get you to your medical certificate in the most efficient way, usually in 1/2 hour. Sometimes you might have to wait a while because the person before you needed some special attention and the Doc gives it to them but know, you will get that attention, if needed, as well.

He is not your run of the mill doc. But he will go to bat for you to help you get your FAA medical if you need it, especially if you have a complicated medical issue. If you have had to wait an hour for your appointment it’s because he’s giving someone the time they need often unexpected. But you’ll get the same hour if you need it.

I've been going to Dr. Pellerin since the mid 70's and we grew old together I guess. I've had a few issues over the years and he always was able to get me flying again. His FAA relationships and knowledge of the requirements make him well respected within the FAA. I'll be going there until I retire.

He knows the FAA. He knows what they expect. He knows the FAA regulations that apply to you getting your FAA medical. I have my last 3 class 3 exams here. He knows what you need. In my case CPAP records of use. There are usually 3 or 4 class I applicants in the waiting room. If you need is to renew or get your first FAA exam you will have a hard time finding anyone more knowledgable as too what you need to submit to get your document.

When I was getting my FAA medical, and had to make the FAA aware of some issues from my distant past, he chewed me out like a teenager, overcharged me for his "services", and told everyone who walked in his door about my personal situation and history. Defamation of character, slander, and gossip are his modus operandi.

Dr Pellerin is unprofessional. He is often grouchy and argumentative and easily frustrated by the administrative procedures necessary to be an FAA AME. He never closes his office door so there is no confidentiality. His office is cluttered and unsanitary.

Had my FAA medical exam here. I couldn't believe as to how dirty the whole place was. located on top of a gas station. had to wait 45min wile listening to him talk with a another patient about anything and everything that is not related to the to the appointment. the whole experience was just weird!
