Dr. Richard D Potts has the following 1 specialty
- Family Medicine
A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for people of all ages, at all stages of life. Rather than focusing on the treatment of one disease or patient population, family practitioners are often the doctors that people see for their everyday ailments, like cold and flu or respiratory infections, and health screenings. When necessary, family practitioners will provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist.
The doctors may also provide physicals, inoculations, prenatal care, treat chronic diseases, like diabetes and asthma, and provide advice on disease prevention.

We, my wife & I, starting going to Dr. Potts when our family Doctor retired and recommended. We both in our 80's and the doctor listens to us and goes over our medications and makes sure our blood work is up to date. In 2017 we both were in the hospital, at different times for different reasons, Dr Potts stopped om to make sure what was happening with the doctors that he had as our primaries for the stay. Example,, wife was in for a heart problem and also a broken wrist. Dr Potts followed our progress thereby knowing what was going on without looking at paper work after the fact.
I changed primary care physician to Dr. Potts due to his willingness to address medical cannabis/CBT treatment in lieu of pain management/opiods or pyschotropics. He evaluated me, studied my medical history and started me on the non euphoric CBT; followed up to make changes to the Rx as necessary which included doses of medical marijuana (vaping). I have now been able to eliminate Ambien for sleep and cut back substantially on pain medications. Dr. Potts is young and progressive. I recommend anyone suffering from conditions approved for mmj treatment schedule an appointment with him as this has helped me with my cronic pain and PTSD. He is also a great choice for your primary care/family physician. He gives that old-fashioned family doctor touch to his patients.
I had an initial appointment and he did not ask bout any health care documents I might need on hand as an older patient, DNR, Health Care Proxies, etc. He never wrote down anything and when I told him about my vitamins, he did not make a note of them either. He handed me a sheet for a blood test with no explanation, and told me to see the front "people". I will see him in 2 weeks and re-review him. I brought my best health to him, but I am wondering if he is my "best doctor" choice.
I was fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Potts after a hospital visit. The emergency room Dr. Flowers was incredible and shared that I'd like Dr. Potts office and staff even better. He was right! I made an appointment with ease. It was a matter of great happiness to uncover Daytona's hidden secret, a Dr. and his Dr. Wife that run a practice providing "old fashion" care. Remarkable to say the least. The staff was helpful and comforting to me. Dr. Potts has a polite manner and sense of humor. I received the highest level of care and diagnosis. I would like to give this Doctor an A+ rating and recommend him highly. I'm grateful to Florida Memorial hospital for an awesome referral.
