Dr Olson removed a malignant tumor from my son's brain. It had hemmoraged, which further complicated the surgery. We have worked with many oncologists since then who all reference the brilliance and success of the surgery as a major factor for their optimism for my son's prognosis. We could not be more grateful or pleased in regard to his surgery. Besides obviously being highly skilled and experienced, Dr Olson was very honest, kind and patient with us. We highly recommend him without any hesitation.
I have a cyst in my thoracic spinal column. It was so big it was pressing against my spinal cord. My spinal cord was as thin as cellophane. I was having so many health problems because of it. He couldn't remove it because of its location. So he made a shunt. My operation was 6 hours. My recovery was a year. But the cyst now drains. I will hopefully never be in that situation again. He's an excellent surgeon. Very causious too. He didn't rush me into surgery. He and my family and I met with him several times before surgery.
We are so blessed to have his exceptional high level of skills available to us in the metro Detroit area. At the very beginning of trying to determine what caused my seizures. My symptoms and MRI bewildered the other topgun brain surgeons at the major hospitals in the Metro Detroit area causing them to request permission to start drilling holes in my head to biopsy that spot to find out what it was. Dr. Olson said "that won't be necessary" because he knew what it was without putting me through the risk and dangers of unnecessary surgery (biopsy) that may cause more harm than benefits. As it turns out; he was exactly right on! His experience with brain tumors and skillful hand in the operating room equals a fast and smooth recovery. He's a man of the UTMOST INTEGRITY. I highly recommend Dr. Olson! You can RELAX.
