Dr. Rimma Shaposhnikov, MD

I just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy at the West Hills surgery suite. Our initial visit was mellow and informative. On the day of, the staff, nurses, and anesthesiologist were phenomenal. The nurse who prepped me was amazing! Before the colonoscopy, the nurse saw that I was having bad anxiety. She played music of my choice to distract me. They were all angels on earth. Honestly, they were not just people you would trust with your life, but I would be happy to have a glass of wine with any of them.

I was impressed with Dr. Rimma Shaposhnikov. She spent time explaining the colonoscopy and endoscopy and the procedures went well without any trouble. Her follow-up was thorough. I couldn't figure out how to access the video visit, so she set up a Zoom meeting. She's professional but also personable. Her office staff and the nurses at the UCLA Health West Hills Digestive Diseases where I had the procedures were especially friendly and thoughtful, even bringing me some snacks afterwards as I waiting in the recovery room hungry from fasting the day before. I highly recommend Dr. Shaposhnikov!

I had a bad experience with Dr. Shaposhnikov. She insisted I needed an endoscopy (which I didn't because she didn't find anything after performing it). She admitted to me that she made money on this procedure and not on prescribing medication (which is what I needed, not the endoscopy). She also argued with me about my diet and basically said that she does not believe any of her patients when they tell her things about their own body and health.

My new patient appointment lasted 20 minutes during which time the doctor asked me questions and typed my answers into a computer. Questions I had just answered on the new patient forms I had to fill out. She was rushed and rather snappy when I asked two questions, she answered one. It became obvious to me she had no interest in me or my condition, only in getting on to the next patient. A waste of my time, I decided when I left there I would never go back to her she is too high volume. I was later charged $725.00 for her services which were non existent Appalling level of care! Would give her 0 stars if I could-worst experience I've ever had with a medical professional. If you're looking for a caring and compassionate doctor who takes an interest in you, go elsewhere! Fortunately I found a new doctor with the same credentials who spent over 45 minutes with me and charged $300. No computer, lots of advice and insight into my medical problem and discussion of possible… treatment. Referred me to another doctor for a colonoscopy and instructed me to return to him afterwards for follow-up. Well worth the drive to the Valley.

I cannot say enough good about Dr. S. First of all, she listens. She truly makes you feel that you are important, and takes an interest in your care. While her bedside manner is very very good, her level of knowledge is fantastic. She is realistic with treatment options, and very creative when it comes to working around problems. She is just what we need out here in the Conejo Valley. Truly, she is a very good physician.

I really enjoyed seeing Dr. Shaposhnikov the first time I went to her. She was super sweet and I felt really comfortable. My endoscopy with her was a breeze. When I went in for my follow up I felt she rushed me out of there and was very snappy with answering my quesitons, it made me a little sad because I really liked her the first time I went to her. Overall though, she is a good doctor.

I have been looking for a female gastroenterologist and have postponed my much needed colonoscopy as I searched. I have now found a doctor that i feel comfortable with, whom i trust and the colonoscopy was a breaze. Definetely worth checking out.

Honestly one of the best doctors out there. Considerate, knowledgable, kind, sympathetic. She followed up with me and took care of me even after i was refered to surgery. She is my doctor!!!! She should be yours as well. Office staff spectacular.
