Dr. Rita Bella Chuang, MD

Brief summary of my visit: Comes into the office. Does greet me. Doesn't look at me. Sits down at a desk and focuses on the laptop. Her first words as she is sitting down: "What is this visit about?" She doesn't even review the blood work results! I asked for refills for my meds. She snaps back.."You tell me what meds". She seems like a sad, broken woman run down by corporate medical care. The quickest, nothing-kinda visit I have ever had. A sad commentary on health care in America. She is their poster girl.

Cano Health has ruined this practice! Once a private practice, Dr Rita Chaung was caring, compassionate and took the time to listen to her patients. Those days are in the past due to her merger with the mismanaged chaos that is Cano Health. It took 3 months to get a visit with her .When I did attend my visit in June, she was hurried and pre-occupied with her computer notes and could not be bothered with any of my concerns, which I still have. My medications were not refilled and it took SEVERAL calls after my appointment to only get 6 months of medication approved. She also did not submit my referral to my Dermatologist, which cost me an appt that I had scheduled for a year. The dermatologist is now booked out for 90days and not able to reschedule me. She has jeopardized my health and continuing to do so since i STILL don't have a referral! Save your life and go somewhere else!

This is not the case and I'm sure they would not have hesitated to send me a bill for hundreds of dollars had I scheduled with their other providers, whom might I add, we're not even in my insurance network. Fast forward from April to June when I was actually able to be seen for my appointment and the disappointment just keeps mounting. The staff has completely changed to Canos Health team, the front office personnel was unorganized and seemed out of place in her environment. She had piles of documents all over desk mixed with patients IDs and insurance cards. I refused to leave my cards with her once I was called to the clinical area, although… she had more than 20 min to scan them, while I completed my paperwork, she still needed more time with them. I had to give them back to her at check out so she could have another opportunity to scan them. The visit with Dr Rita was brief and hurried and she couldn't be bothered with questions or concerns during my appointment, concerns that still plague me. Her attention was focused primarily to her computer and typing notes, not even taking the time to review or update my medical history during the duration of my appointment. I am still currently waiting for refills of my medications a month after my appointment and a required referral was never sent to my insurance to see my Dermatologist, so the appointment that I have had for over a year had to be canceled for July 14, because this provider feels it's now above her pay grade to submit referrals in a timely manner for her patients. The dermatologist couldn't even re book me since they are booked solid for 90days out! Since you can no longer reach anyone at the office level, all calls are filtered through Cano Health, which is infuriating, especially being told that their referral office is located in Florida and they have limited access to my insurance referral portal from that location. My health is being jeopardize at this point and I feel very abandoned as a patient! Dr Rita Chaung no longer feels like she needs to be accountable to her patients and for that, she needs to be held accountable! If you value your health and are searching for a provider that will be an equal in your health care decisions and management, then keep searching .. this is not your office!

It took about 3 weeks to get results from lab work for both my wife and myself. When the doctor called us, she started rattling off what the lab numbers mean. I had to ask her which of us she was talking about since we both did lab work for her. She said it was my wife’s and when she finished about my wife’s results, my wife asked a simple question linked to her results and this doctor got very agitated and stated she didn’t have time for this and to make another appointment and abruptly hung up. I find this type of attitude callous, unconcerned and condescending. We'll be looking for a doctor that is professional.

This is more about the office; Dr. Chuang left private practice and joined a group. Tried to make an appt. for follow up on blood work and was told she was now in a group and they did not accept Medicare, just Medicare Advantage. Took me five weeks to get an appt. with a new doctor. I think it is medically unethical to close an office and not inform patients.

I was referred to Dr. Chuang by a co-worker. Dr. Chaung and her staff are great! They are thorough, patient and accommodating. Dr. Chaung didn't make me feel I was being rushed in and rushed out. We discussed my history and she has given me great recommendations on improving my heath and lowering my blood pressure. The 1st impression I got will keep me coming back...

I think she's fantastic and she always takes the time and care when I have seen her. She never rushes in and rushes out. She sits down and listens to you and she takes the time to give you feedback. Her office staff is fantastic, always helpful and accommodating

Went in for a renewal on my prescriptions (2). My husband passed away recently and I am not sleeping. I asked her for a prescription for Ambien. She replied with "you are retired right - Take a Nap" followed by she writes so many prescriptions she did not get her BONUS. I of course walked out completely taken back by her behavior, very unprofessional. She just lost a patient!

I've only seen her once to establish her as my primary care. She was very attentive, asked questions and initiated issues I needed to address. Wait time was not bad: 10-15".
