Dr. Rita Y Rahbany, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Rahbany for at least 15 years. I was always on time for my appts, never had to reschedule, and never complained about the 90-min wait times, the difficulty reaching staff by phone/email, or the consistent issues with RX refills, until now. The staff is unprofessional, incompetent, and clearly unhappy, a reflection of the Office Manager, Carrie, who lacks the skills of a true medical office manager. Due to the inability of this office to properly complete a prior authorization form for the pharmacy to issue my RX refill, the request has been denied again. After four days of talking, not yelling, with the office to resolve the issue Carrie has now informed me I was medically discharged and no longer a patient. My appt for next week was cancelled and I have no medication left to lower my blood sugar. Is this the kind of doctor's office you're looking for??

Dr. Rahbany lacks integrity does not know what the Hippocratic Oath stands for !!!!

I’ve never been so ignored by office staff. Dr.Rahbany has a good bedside manner but does NOT deal with the difficulties. I asked about my symptoms during my last visit and got no answers and a wrong script called in twice! After holding my call for over an hour I got attitude from the staff and ultimately I have fired her from my care network. I’ll find another Endocrinologist!

It's all about the money not the patient well being. As long as she gets paid even that the patient is with a life threatening deseas

I had my doubts because of the numerous bad reviews on several medical review sites. But Dr. Rahbanny was fine. But we had a return visit to go over lab results. Scheduled at 11:30 am. My Son woke up at 2:00 am throwing up and fever. Oh no stomach bug. I started calling the office at 8 am - rang busy. No voicemail, just busy as if off the hook. What Dr's office does not have voice mail or ans. service?! By 9 he was feeling a little better not great, just not throwing up.- stopped trying to reach the office. Started to get ready and found a note- My Husband had taken our car to work- he was called in. Oh gees, I went to neighbor, asked if we could possibly get a ride- No one available. Headache starting now-okay started to call Rahbanny's office again- finally reached someone at 9:30. (that is an hour and 30 minutes ringing busy signal). Explained situation- they said they will reschedule but still going to charge me $50.00 on top of appt. fee. I said nope- if there is no way someone… can get there. If it is just someone lazy or rude or unprofessional or taking advantage of the Dr's time, then yes, but not with a sick child, no transportation and every effort thwarted- and receptionist said quote "everybody has an excuse" on man, really lady!? I knew what I was dealing with now, extremely unprofessional. I said I want to leave a msg. for the Dr. she said "nope our Dr. doesn't speak to patients except in office"Then I want a copy of the test results sent to me, we will sign the necessary Hippa paperwork- she said "NO YOU HAVE TO COME IN TO GET RESULTS!" I said no, I know that is not true and you cannot hold lab results hostage. She said "very snarky, yes, we can do whatever we deem necessary"-I said I have the hippa laws right in front of me, I have made the proper documentation, You cannot do that and it is a serious violation to act in place of the Dr's orders and the law. But when she said we could not get the results The receptionist was acting in place of the Dr. and violating hippa laws. Not only can we or anyone receive copies of labs, your primary Dr. is to also receive all results! so here is the outcome-Not only did I keep her from charging my card, I reported the way the practice is run, involving attempted intimidation, threats, and unlawful charges when there truly is no fault of patient. My Dr. called this office to request a copy of the results- this receptionist said no, the Dr. has not reviewed them" That is when he did whatever he did and guess what?! We received all the test results, my Son was seen and has the recommended medication and a follow up with a truly professional office in May. Guys- by the way- this receptionist is the one who called me and said my "Sons results were abnormal". This was a violation as well. They are supposed to call and say the Dr. would like to see you for a follow up or go over results. Again- she knew, told me and did everything she could to keep the results from a worried Mom.- why? because she has issues- In my opinion, real problematic, control freak, patient harming issues! Please look elsewhere. There is no need to accept this unprofessional, rude, antagonist behavior. You do have rights and laws to protect you. There are some exceptional Endocrinologist in this area, as well as caring, professional staff. This is NOT one of them.

I have been a patient for about a year, I was told the wrong time for my last appointment, but tried to wait to see the doctor. After sitting for 2 hours, I decided to reschedule. I tried to reschedule my appointment this morning but was told that I could not reschedule, and if I did, I would be discharged as a patient!!! The nerve of this office, people do have lives and unexpected situations happen, but this office doesn't care in the least. So I told them that I am discharging myself and would be there to pick up my records today. I have already found a new doctor!!! Good riddance to bad rubbish!!!!

I am writing with extreme gratitude to Dr. Rahbany after suffering from a thyroid storm in 2012she noticed that another Dr was under dosing me and i was near death. She corrected my dose. And i have been with since and been regulated. She takes her time and explains in detail. She cares for her patients. She does her job straight from the heart. She is kind and loving and stern and strick when she needs to but all to benefit the best care for you. I have recommended family and friends. Dr. Rahbany thank you for all you have done and continue to do for me.

She was highly recommended to me by a friend which she was his endocrinologists for thyroid issues. My first visit was impressive! The office reception area is nicely decorated and very clean. The Staff are super nice and greeted me with smile. They are very helpful with my inquiries regarding insurance. When I met Dr Rahbany, she shook my hand and introduced herself. I am very impressed with her intelligence and manners. She seems very thorough and explain to me in details about my issues, tests, and expectations. Her explanations and intelligence won my confidence that she could take care of me. I know she cannot please everyone and may not be a perfect doctor but overall she is a great doctor!

Having had my thyroid removed due to cancer, I'm dependent on thyroid meds. For 5 years, I begged her for enough meds to feel alive again, but she wouldn't listen. She would only give me 175mcg when clearly I needed more. I had more than brain fog, it was more like no brain at all. Forgot how to get to her office though I'd driven there many times, and my short-term AND long-term memory was non-existent. I bought the DVD Hogan's Heroes complete series, watched every episode of 6 seasons back to back, and when I finished it in less than a week I started over at season one and it was like I was watching it for the first time. That's scary. But evidently she wasn't concerned. I ended up changing doctors and what a difference! I now take 250 mcg, and I have a brain again! I should have switched doctors a long time ago. Better late than never, I guess.

I wanted to go on a particular medication to treat my hypothyroidism. Dr. Rahbany was the only physician that listened to my concerns re: manufactured medication as opposed to natural and prescribed the medication I preferred. Ten years later, my TSH levels are optimal. I have always found Dr. Rahbany to be sympathetic and professional.
