Dr. Robert Duane Allen, MD

Absolutely awful doctor. He dismisses your concerns and talks down to you — if you can even get in touch with him. There have been many times where my grandmother or mother couldn’t get in touch, and once where he couldn’t be contacted for 5 days and we were referred to the on-call doctor as she needed to see a doctor urgently (who was much better but has clearly been intimidated by Dr. Allen since he’s the senior doctor in the office). Under his care my grandmother was rushed to the ER with kidney failure — which the doctor at the hospital confirmed was due to the cocktail of drugs that Allen had put her on. Both my family and my grandmother said she did not want to be placed on some of the medications, but since she is in an assisted living facility that gives her medications to her (and she can’t reject any of them if they’re on the doctor’s list), she was forced to take them. The on-call doctor had wisely taken her off of anything unnecessary, but since she’s not his primary… patient Dr. Allen overrode his suggestions and she was back on the same drugs as before. She’s done nothing but get worse under his care and he refuses to help the situation, but between having Medicare and my grandma’s requirements we’ve been unable to get her into another doctor.

I am a former patient of Robert Allen. I had to find another PCP after my last visit with him due to his rude behavior. He made culturally insensitive comments about my partner and I, not knowing that both my partner and I are licensed medical professionals. When he learned that we both (My partner and I) work in health care, it's as if he instantly became a different person. He tried to joke, smile, and make small talk with me. I saw right through his poor attempt to back track. If you are a minority, I would suggest NOT allowing Robert Allen be your MD. He will treat you with disrespect. To anyone reading this review, do yourself a favor and never see this provider. You'll thank yourself for the decision.

Dr. Allen is the best. He is one of the most intelligent men I have ever met. I love how well versed he is and how thoroughly he explains things.

Very good Doctor...However, could have more customer friendly front office staff.
