Dr. Robert Daniel Thomson, MD

I had an upper endoscopy with this physician with balloon dilation of a Schatzky's Ring. I found him to be professional, courteous, fast and skilled, as he was able to dilate the ring 4cm beyond what a previous MD had attempted, with no side effects.

I decided to give him a review after I read a few negative ones. My experience was nothing like that and I have zero complaints. He helped me, he was polite and professional. I would go back and I would refer friends and family to him.

He was not at all respectful. Most recommendations are for a colonoscopy at 50 - he said he didn't know why I was there (I was 50). He argued with me about prior test results which my PCP confirmed. He may be skilled at what he does, but he really shouldn't be allowed to speak to patients. I'll see someone else next time.

It's time for this man to retire. He's obviously not happy with his profession because he is very rude, arrogant and just mean and unpleasant.

I was shocked by his behavior prior to my procedure. He discounted my condition, questioned why I was having an endoscopy (I wasn't my idea!), thought it was "overkill", and was generally very arrogant. This was all while I was on the OR table ready to go! Very upsetting. The office said they couldn't find time for a follow up!

Pleasant MD. 2nd time I saw him for colonoscopy. He was great at listening prior to procedure about my concern, but felt that there was no real follow-up for questions. The nurse put me out, when I asked not to be. Her explanation in the beginning was that she could "read my face" to know if I was in any pain. What pain?? I was put to sleep!!! By her putting me out, I was not able to watch or ask questions. I was groggy after, and there was no opportunity to ask questions of the MD nor did he come back to check in to see if I did have questions. The nurse just brushed it off, as he had other pt's to see.He did prescribe an RX...still no communication...then a follow-up letter stating he hoped the Rx was helping. I know from my first visit a few years back that he does care, but I felt more like a number. Yes, I was there for a simple procedure along w/a number of other people, but I had a concern that I would have appreciated the opportunity to ask a question or two.
