Dr. Robert Pierre Dourron, MD

I went in for tubal ligation consult as a referral in 2013. He offered an IUD as a less permanent birth control. I said no because I break out when I wear metal jewelry, so I didn't want metal in me. I just wanted a cut and tie tubal ligation. So, after my surgery, around the time my cycle started back, I started having problems. My regular doctor wrote off my symptoms as weight, age, or in my head for a long time. When I tried to reach out to Dr. Dourron's office to get info about my tubal because I suspected my symptoms could be related, they wouldn't return my calls. It took nearly 5 years from the surgery to get my surgery report and find out that he used FILSHIE CLIPS in me. I've been in almost daily pain for years and brushed off by countless doctors over 20+ symptoms, and now one of the clips has come off and is stabbing my internal organs!! Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome is real, look it up yourself because these doctors will LIE and tell you a tubal has no possible side effects.… This man ruined my life. My insurance says removing these demon clips would be an elective surgery. Well then the one who elected to put them in without my knowledge should be the one paying to get them out! :(

I hope anyone who is reading this review will take heed and use caution when making a decision to move forward with this particular physician’s office. Here is my story... I became a last minute client of Dr. Douron’s practice with the hopes of delivering my son at DeKalb medial, due to proximity and wanting a natural child birth. I never met the actual dr until the day of delivery, however, I had several encounters with his staff. As stated earlier, I was a perfectly healthy working professional who merely wanted to meet the delivery dr prior to delivering my son. After my first conversation with the receptionist, I should have known something was a miss. I explained my needs and she began asking me about Medicare and emergency c-sections. None of these items were topics related to my particular situation if I provided my insurance carrier and that I have adequate insurance, plus that I am trying to have a natural birth. Fast forward my son is born and I am informed at the hospital… that circumcisions are performed in his office every other week on Thursday. My husband and I bring him in and upon check in we are provided a one page 5 bulleted listing of care instructions. I ask the receptionist is this all I will need and was advised yes. We wait about 2 hours in the lobby to eventually releasing our son to the care of the doctor and his nurses. Our son is returned back to us and we continue our day. Throughout that night we followed the instructions and treated and cared for his genitalia, only to constantly notice that he was bleeding mass amounts of blood. My son at the time of the surgery was a little over 7 pounds and in a 24 period bleed through 8 or so diapers. My husband became concerned and first thing that morning he called the dr office. We were told to refer to the care instructions, by which at this point I had memorized, but I was talked to as if I did not read them correctly. ( as a point of reference if it is not apparent in this review, I’m very well educated and so is my husband. Between the two of us there are two undergraduate degrees and 3 graduate level, we read just fine) my husband is able to contact a more concerned nurse who asked a very important question... what does the care instructions say to do? Upon me reading the page to her she then realized I have an outdated and incomplete document! I became emotional and upset, not with her, but that my son who is very small has lost copious amounts of blood and all of this could have been prevented! I bring my son to the dr office immediately and he is rushed back and given proper care to stop the bleeding. After the area is mended we were given items to help with any after care, for example there is an item listed on the care instructions as Vasline gauze, which is an hospital item and not issued for retail. However, on the care instructions it’s listed as if all families would have them readily accessible like bandaids to help with wound care! I say all of this to say that as parents especially mothers we go through 9 months of gestation and a lifetime of protecting our offspring, we want drs who will put that same care and patience with the people they serve. Going to a doctor whose priorities is to maintaining order and organization, down to how patients are educated and informed on how to care for these precious babies should be put first! Now as I conclude this review I will thank the nurse who stepped in to essentially save the day, nurse Jackie, THANK YOU!

I recently started seeing this practice thinking I had found a doctor willing to help me. The result was not as helpful as I had hoped. After a few visits none of which did I meet Dr. Dourron, I was scheduled for surgery. I met him for the first time less than 45 minutes before the surgery. Three days following the surgery I was in the worst pain imaginable! I ended up seeking emergency service and waiting for follow up. At this point I had some sort of a lump under my skin which was very sensitive and painful. The doctor never saw me at follow up, only the midwife. She attempted to be helpful but had no idea what this could be. I was scheduled for another follow up a week later. When I came for that appointment, I was seen by yet another member of the practice but not the doctor who performed the surgery. To me, this is completely unacceptable. They were made aware of problems 3 days after surgery and did nothing. It has now been over 2 weeks since surgery and I am still hurting, my… abdomen is still bruised, the lump is still present, and they have no medically proven answers as to what this is. All they want to do is look at blood work and say I'm fine. This has left me unable to pick up my younger children due to pain and bulging, and in a constant state of discomfort. I have had to schedule an appointment with an entirely different practice just to get answers. Not once during this process has Dr. Dourron attempted personally, to see me or follow up on this. The entire experience has just turned out to be a nightmare and disappointment!

What I am really curious about are reviews of the actual labor and delivery experience. I basically have no choice but to go here, since they are the only ones that would take me this late in my pregnancy, and accept pregnancy medicaid. My experience is, so far, none of the women that go to this practice have any preferences regarding their birth plans. Actually, birth plans seem to be a foreign idea. What this office is is a medicaid shuffle line. The staff was fine to me, albeit rough around the edges, and the waits are long, and the visits especially short. Good visit with the midwife... absolutely terrified to deliver with one of the OBs, so I am wondering why their internet presence is scant at best, since they are such a prolific office.

IF YOU ARE HAVING A BOY, PLEASSSSSSE GO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR.!!!!! I have had two delivered two children by doctor Robert Durron, the first was a girl no complications. the second was a boy. 1. WILL NOT PREFORM CIRCUMCISION IN HOSPITAL. I HAD TO WAIT 6 MONTHS BEFORE HE CAN BE CIRCUMCISED! 2. The longer you wait, the more pain the child is in and it takes longer to recover. 3. I delivered at NORTHSIDE HOSPITAL and the nurses and other doctors said the reason was for money. The price is more after delivery. 4. Your Medicaid may no longer be active in 6 months. The whole process is unnecessary, because it can be preformed in the hospital. 5. waste of time & money SI USTED TIENE UN MUCHACHO, PLEASSSSSSE IR A VER OTRO MÃ?DICO.!!!!! He tenido dos entregados a dos niños por el doctor Robert Durron, el primero fue una niña sin complicaciones. el segundo era un niño. 1. NO preforma CIRCUNCISIÃ?N EN HOSPITAL. Tuve que esperar 6 meses antes de que PUEDE ser… circuncidado! 2. Cuanto más espere, más dolor que el niño está en y se tarda más tiempo en recuperarse. 3. Que pronuncié en el Hospital Northside y las enfermeras y otros médicos dijeron que la razón fue por dinero. El precio es más después del parto.   4. Su Medicaid ya no esté activo en 6 meses. Todo el proceso es innecesaria, ya que puede ser preformado en el hospital. 5. pérdida de tiempo y dinero

The staff is not enough to work in that place, they are uneducated and unfriendly.

Without a doubt, Dr Robert Dourron is one that enjoys what he does. Very, very smart doctor. You can't go wrong with the Dourrons.

IT WAS MY CHILD AND DR. DOURRON TAKE CARE OF ME. ALTHOUGH I HAD A GREAT SUPPORT SYSTEM HE ALSO MADE ME FEEL AT EASE. HE IS MY #1 REFFERAL DOCTOR.
