Dr Issac is an excellent surgeon. I would not want anyone else operating on my back. I had 2 fusions and 3 stenosis. The surgery was very successful. I got my life back. Thank you Dr Issac

I was in so much pain, difficult to walk, problems sleeping and Dr. Issacs changed all of that. I am able to keep up with friends and family now. Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Issacs and his wonderful team.

I saw Dr Isaacs as recommended by my pain management provider regarding compressed nerves in my cervical spine, ongoing S1 radiculopathy, and symptoms related to these issues. He did not perform a physical exam nor did he correctly assess my reflexes, which was his only attempt at an actual exam. When I read his written summary of this office visit, I was shocked and in disbelief! He made up his entire examination of me! He never performed ANY of the parts of the exam that he claimed he did; he came to conclusions that he made up since the only way to know these results would have been to actually examine me! For example, he stated I had “no peripheral pulses bilaterally “. This means he felt no pulses in any of the approximately 6-10 places pulsation can be felt in our legs, ankles, and feet. Except he NEVER TOUCHED MY LEGS OR FEET. I have reported him to the appropriate departments at Duke University Healthcare and would never recommend him to anyone.

I had the most horrible experience with Dr. Isaacs.. He was rude and arrogant. I reported something that he said to me that was very unprofessional. I got a reply stating I had no proof of this. Really, my husband and best friend was in the room with me and they heard it. The only thing good I can say is I wish Sarah was the surgeon. Oh yes one more thing I was no better after the surgery. He told me abrutly I had a long road to recovery. Yes it was long. I got no better. He had to do another surgery. Said he overlooked something. Now I am stuck with a bill I will never get paid in my life time. Will never go back to him...

My lower spine had become so bad that I could no longer stand upright or lie flat, and walking was very difficult. I was in constant unbearable pain and my toes were going numb. Dr. Isaacs, along with his associate, Dr. Cook, did two operations to clean up my degeneration and insert titanium rods and screws to stabilize my spine. Once I recovered from the surgeries, I have had NO PAIN AND MY LIFE IS FULL AND NORMAL ONCE AGAIN!!! Thank you and your staff for my new life!

I have been having back promblems for over twenty years. And about fifteen years of neck promblems. When i had hurt thqt this doctor was awsome and that he could help me, i was very excited, and thinking finally. Well not so much. I went up there twice and on the second time he came in and did not smile, say how are you doing, whats the problem nothing. It was like i was wasting his time. And he was very rude. I have seen alot of doctors in my time, but this one took the cake. When i left i was sooo upset i startd crying cause i was so disappointed. Then i got mad at my self for getting so pset and not telling him off off. Any one wants to go to him, good luck. I will not recommended him to no one.

I have consulted with 5 different neurosurgeons across the states and Dr. Robert Isaacs was by far the WORST. I arrived on time for my appointment and waited 2 hours before he saw me. When he finally came in, he did not show one ounce of compassion and he was incredibly rude and unprofessional. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked awful. His didn't seem like he wanted to help me at all. It was like he couldn't wait to get the appointment over with. He told me to try non-surgical options such as "biofeedback and acupuncture" but when I asked what biofeedback is, he said, "I don't know". I asked what the long-term outlook is for my spinal condition and he simply said, "Well, if I had a crystal ball, I could tell you". He had such an attitude. He did not answer ANY of my questions and he left me feeling completely hopeless. His nurse practitioner referred me for an injection the day before (which I got) and he had no clue about it. He also said I shouldn't have even gotten the… injection. It seemed as though he hadn't even looked at my records or MRIs before he came into the room. He refused to give me a refill for pain medicine and said I don't need it, even though I can barely walk. He didn't do ANY clinical assessments while I was in the office- didn't check my reflexes or my strength, nothing. He had a very bad attitude and had the worst bedside manner I have ever seen from a doctor. I am so shocked and disappointed that that's the kind of care I received at Duke Hospital.

Dr Isaacs was thorough in his explanations and reviewing my MRI. The surgery went flawlessly and I regained muscle function within a few weeks. My recovery was uneventful and any questions I had were answered promptly.
