Dr. Robert Lance Johansen, MD

EVERYTHING that Dr. Johansen told me the truth. He said that in "30 days, I would be out of my sling(it was 25 days) and that I would recover quickly" he was right! Not only did I do the full 12 weeks of therapy, but I also did therapy at home whenever I had time to exercise, which helped the recovery process tremendously. It took six weeks, and I was back at work, pressure washing. I highly recommend Dr. Johansen, and if I tear my other shoulder, he's going to be the one that fixes it.

Great staff and quality care

While I have never been a patient of Dr. Robert Lance Johansen's, nevertheless, he performed surgery on my daughter (Stephanie Bowin); my son-in-law (John Bowin); my daughter's father (Ronald Rushing); and my son-in-law's father (Mike Bowin), and he did an excellent job on every one of them!! I was among all of them off and on, and not once did I hear any negative comments resulting from Dr. Johansen's respective surgery on any of them. I also have recommended him to others who were searching for a very professional and competent orthopaedic surgeon; also, I have spoken with others who were former patients of his, and they had everything good to say about his expertise. Furthermore, if I, myself, should ever need to undergo orthopaedic surgery, and since his reputation precedes him in such a positive way, I won't think twice regarding having Dr. Johansen perform surgery on me! My daughter still raves over him and his expertise!! I highly recommend Dr. Johansen to anyone who has… any orthopaedic issues that have not been addressed.

I found Robert Johansen to be an arrogant, inconsiderate fast-talking man who acted very rushed and annoyed that he had to waste his time on me. Once he made sure I could move my fingers post surgery, I NEVER saw him again. I had a subpar outcome and yet only ever saw his nurse practitioner, Jay Smith, who also blew off my complaints of post-surgical problems by repeatedly pushing me off to more physical therapy. I now have a Frankenstinian scar on my hand and wrist, and ended up going to PT for over a year for pain and reduced function in my right hand. In a total of 5 visits, including initial visit and day of surgery, Johansen himself spent less than 10 minutes all told actually speaking to me. Brenda, his receptionist, assured me prior to the initial appointment that Johansen was very skilled in and had lots of specific experience in carpal tunnel surgery. In person, Brenda was very rude and dismissive. I wish I would have run instead of waiting well past my initial… appointment time to listen to Johansen's glib assertions that my procedure and recovery would be "a piece of cake". I really regret trusting this man and his staff.

Dr Johansen did my knee replacement. I had a complication for and for months Dr Johansen and Jay Smith worked tirelessly to save the leg. I could, and can still call anytime day or night, and one of the two of them get back to me immediately. Eould not go anywhere else.

After seeing Dr.Johanson once I was then seen by the practitioner JAY which is a quack never took the time to hear what was going on was quick to say he would do an injection or not AFTER CONTACTING THE OFFICE TO REQUEST TO SEE DR. Hanson and not jay EVERY TIME I WOULD GO BACK IN I would have to sit and wait FOEVER AND still would see JAY I then found another Orthopedic doctor that took the time to know what was going on with me to get me the relief I needed I then let the office know why I discontinued seeing them because of jay after almost 2 yrs of me being in a auto accident which caused my injuries the attorneys office had to have dr.johansons office send in his statement of the time of me being seen by them JAY had filled out the sheet an yes indeed had stated all my injuries were frm previous yrs (that I never had issues with before my accident) and dr Johansson signed that hurt my case after my case was over I contacted dr Hanson office An requested to see dr Hanson to ask how… could it be possible for the statement jay signed he did complete the form and I was then told I could not be seen in their office any longer SO NO I WOULD NOT RECCOMED DR JOHANSSONS OFFICE AT ALL ONLY BECAUSE OF THE PRATICITIONER JAY that seems to see you after you see DR Johanson

He scooped my knee, and was gentle, and kind. He doesnt treat his patients like cattle. He did such a good job!! He gave me my life back. He has a tender heart, and cares about his patients.

I am not happy with Jay Smith Nurse Practitioner. On my very first visit he asked me if I had diabetes, when I replied no he said "well u will have,.I give u a couple of months." Really....wth. I we there bcz I have osteoarthritis in.both knees, no cartilage on either knee and bone spurs. After my initial visit they told me they would call me in two weeks. It was 3 months a d u had to call them!! This person never looked at my chat has no idea what other chronic diseases I have or even what medications I am on. Unprofessional, judgmental, no connection at all was made to assist me... just shoved two needles in my knees and ran out of the room. Don't use this doctor... I haven't seen Johansen ONCE!!

the staff was great.and dr.smith was great.he the one who follows the cases before and after.I saw Dr.johnasen twice.Once before surgery and the day of surgery.He did a great job on my knee.
