Have you seen Dr. Robert L Katz?
I HAVE NEVER IN MY 60 YEARS EVER HAD A DR. THAT MADE ME FEEL SO ILL AT EASE AS HE DID. I READ SOME OF HIS REVIEWS AND THOUGHT NO ONE COULD BE THAT BAD, BOY WAS I WRONG. HE SPENT MORE TIME TRYING TO PSYCHO-ANALYZE ME THRU HIS QUESTIONS AS IF I WAS SOME KIND OF AN IDIOT. HE FINALLY LOOKED AT MY THROAT AND IN LESS THAN A MINUTE TOLD TO GO GET SOME MUCINEX MAX AND THEN HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME IF I COULD REMEMBER THAT. I AM SURE ITS GOING TO COST ME BIG MONEY TO SEE HIM. I LEFT THEIR OFFICE TOTALLY SHELL SHOCKED OVER WHAT JUST HAPPENED. HIS ABRUPT DEMEANOR AND RUDENESS WAS BY FAR THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH A SUPPOSED MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

I took my daughter to Dr. Katz for the first time yesterday. I read some disappointing reviews, but I tend to believe that most people write in if they are angry and have one bad experience. People who had a good experience usually don't write. Well, we were delighted with Dr. Katz. The Concord Twp office got me an appointment the same day I called. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. Dr. Katz came in the exam room with a smile on his face. He shook our hands and addressed all of our concerns. Fantastic!

Would highly recommend this doctor!! Had excellent experience with him... Wait time was short, appointment went really well & easily... Couldn't have asked for anything more, he was great!!

problem 1: scheduling with Cleveland Clinic. We asked about Thyroid issue. I got Dr. Katz who is an ENT who does not do Thyroid. Arriving at the office with his grumpy staff and a very long wait. Problem 2: Dr. Katz. He seemed to parse out the problem I stated to hear only what he was interested in. Somehow during a visit with a Thyroid concern, I could only talk to him after a hearing test which no surprise was fine. He said to go back to talk to GP for Thyroid and any other symptom that didn't interest him. As long as we were with him, mentioned a tinnitus problem. His solution, turn up the TV or radio. Problem 3: he is confused. To top off a visit that was a big waste of time and money, he handed me a form as I was leaving. I looked at it when I got home - it is the personal health record of another patient! 3 strikes and he's out.

I had no problem getting an appoint the next day as a new patient. After a 45 minute wait to see Dr. Katz he listened to me, looked up my history on the Clinic records, agreed with me and diganoised my swimmers ear. Quickly gave me my perscriptions and started to walk out. Very mechanical, brief and to the point; however, I had questions and he didn't have time to hear them. I stopped him from leaving the exam room and asked about follow up, questions about the perscriptions and prevention methods. He did answer my questions but acted like I was bothering him and made me feel like an idiot. No follow up & bedside manor needs lots of improvement.

Dr. Katz' knowledge and skill saved my life after three other physicians mis-diagnosed me. His surgery is without equal and the results produced 22+ more years of life.

If you have an ear infection and need antibiotics and drops - then he is personable and sends you on your way. He might even tell you a joke. But when I had an issue with my hearing not clearing up, he became affronted that I would ask a question of him. He angrily just repeated exactly what he had just said as if I was an idiot and he was all-knowing and how dare I ask a question. When I said "But your audiologist told me that xyz...he just shook his head and didn't say a word and handed me the chart and said give it to the desk on your way out." I will NEVER go back. I made an appt with another CCF ENT and even if the findings are the same, at least I think I will be treated more respectfully. It couldn't be worse! Don't go to him. He needs to retire.

Getting an appointment may be tricky, the wait time in the office can be long. The Dr. is not especially friendly and when dealing with children who are sick this would have been a very positive attribute. He is kind of stern, that said he could see that my child had an ear infection with thick fluid- something that our family Dr. had missed. He did prescribe an antibiotic that had not previously been effective for my child and knowing that he prescribed the same antibiotic again. If he suggests surgery next re-check I will certainly get a second opinion.

Only a couple of minutes and a few words. Didn't even want to listen to me. Totally waste of my time and money ( a couple minutes for a couple hundred bucks , good for him , bad for me ). Bottom line, I don't think he cares about patient at all.

Very mechanical in his approach to a problem with chronic sinus congestion; with only a couple of words and the briefest (~1 second) glance in ears, nose and mouth, he decided a CT needed. After bringing back the radiography he said there was "nothing wrong," and implied the difficulty in swallowing and hearing was my imagination. A poor diagnostician whose manner did not suggest an interest in caring.

This doctor didn't beleive me, when I explained the symptoms. He implied I was faking things, and said he didn't see anything wrong. He even strongly said there is no need to follow up in three months or so. He didn't even say anything like: see how you are in 3-4 months; call if you still don't feel better in a few weeks; maybe there is another doctor that you can see. Dr. Katz did not even attempt to see if there might be another physiological problem. All he was concerned with, was hearing--nothing else. There are many causes of ear pain.
