Dr. Robert Paul Dolan, MD

This guy shouldn’t be allowed to interact with patients! He minimized symptoms and was the rudest person I have EVER dealt with!

I had a very poor patient experience with Dr. Dolan. He never talked with me prior to or after my procedure. Also, when I had questions a month later and attempted to reach him many times, still no answer. With so many Gastroenterologists desiring to answer questions, I would not return to this one.

I have been seeing Dr. Dolan for about 8 years now. He has always been very particular in reviewing all of my symptoms. I have had several colonoscopies and endoscopies performed by him (always with him discussing everything before hand and after and a follow up call after the procedure) He asked me a lot of questions and addressed my issues (with medication usually) I have Gerd and Barrett's Esophagus and medication is the only option right now. I found he was always very kind and patient with me...I have had a lot of issues. I think since colon cancer runs in my family he was especially attentive. Granted he can at times wisk his patients through, I found that by asking a lot of questions, being prepared (I bring a list of questions) and by asking him to check things and run tests ( I asked him to perform the endoscopy that determined I had Barrett's Esophagus) he does provide the kind of care I would expect from a doctor with his experience. I go to my doctors to get the best care… and to find answers, the fact that he isn't overtly pleasant at times doesn't bother me, I would rather have him work with me to make me stay well than be mollycoddled and not be certain of what is going on with my health.

Dr. Dolan May be knowledgable and experienced in his field but, in my opinion, his lack of personal care verges on unprofessional and his bedside manner is terse at best. After 1-1/2 years of consultations and multiple procedures he continues to prescribe medication that offers no relief from my symptoms. If you are a looking for a care provider that is committed to helping you find a path to well being Dr. Dolan is not the right choice.

Dr. Dolan was helpful and answered all of my questions. I came to him for a consult about doing a colonoscopy now versus later because I have endometriosis and bowel and bladder involvement. He seemed unconcerned because, as he said, he has done colonoscopies many times on women who have endometriosis. His manner was a bit brusk and he was clearly strongly opinionated, which might be off-putting to some people. But he is the expert and he better have a strong opinion. He spent 15 minutes with me just answering questions. He gave me positive feedback by telling me I was asking good questions. After the appointment, he had the staff return my copay to me. Overall, he seemed like an experienced and attentive doctor.

A $300 bill for 3 minutes of his time. Sure wasn't worth it. Wish I made that kind of money. Not going to do the tests he ordered. He seemed more like a used car salesman than a Dr.
