Dr. Robert Moser is the Medical Chief of Staff. He is Board Certified in Family Practice, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and holds Certificates of Added Qualifications from the American Board of Family Physicians in Sports Medicine and previously in Geriatrics. He is a past President of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians and serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Kansas Practice-based Research Network. He now serves as the senior delegate for KAFP to the AAFP congress on delegates. He has served on the rural health committee for the AAFP and now serves on the Commission on Government Advocacy, as well as serving as an AAFP liaison to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee on Professional Liability. Dr. Moser is also on the American Hospital Association Committee for Small and Rural Hospitals. He was recently named as Special Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor, University of Kansas School of Medicine and serves as the Chairman for the coordinating committee of the Kansas Primary Care Collaborative. He graduated from the University Of Kansas School Of Pharmacy in 1981 and then from the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine in 1985. Dr. Moser completed his family practice training in Salina, Kansas at the Smoky Hill Family Practice Residency Program in 1988. Dr. Moser is a volunteer assistant clinical professor, University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Department of Family and Community Medicine and serves as a preceptor for medical and physician assistant students. Special awards or recognition includes the National Health Services Corps Directors Award in 1998 and a KUMC Rainbow Award finalist in 2000. He testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee regarding Strengthening the Safety Net: Increasing Access to Essential Health Care Services on March 22nd, 2001. Dr. Moser was awarded with the 2006 Kansas Academy Family Physician of the Year honor. In addition to memberships in the American and Kansas Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Moser is a member of the AMA, the Kansas Medical Society, the Southwest Kansas Medical Society, the American Geriatric Society, the American Medical Directors Association, and the National Rural Health Association. Dr. Mosers experience in the Greeley and Wallace Community Health Assessment Project in 1991 helped to shape the current medical team and medical services available in the two communities. What was once a sole provider caring for the two communities is now two physicians and two mid-levels along with physical therapy, behavioral health, patient education, and other patient services. Dr. Moser was a member of the planning committee for the addition and renovation project of the Greeley County Health Care Services, a critical access hospital. His 16 years experience in providing rural health care helped provide input from the providers point-of-view, especially in the area of providing proper patient flow from inpatient to hospital or skilled nursing to outpatient care. Also, in planning for future growth or contracture and how the facility could be adapted for its best use in either situation, a must for rural health care systems.
