Dr. Robert Preston Schmid, MD

Can only speak from our experience with Dr Robert Schmid, but in all my years in the medical field I have never seen such a complete disregard for patient safety and care than when my loved one went through her ordeal with Dr. Schmid. We paid for a extended/full tummy tuck with liposuction/sculpting impression was to do incisions almost like a body lift. Dr Schmid did not do this, did not appear any lipo was done either. We paid for a breast lift and augmentation which Dr Schmid was certain he could achieve without implants, we strongly wanted implants. Instead we got a breast reduction and they are very uneven. Again no lipo or sculpting appears to have been done. Additionally under no circumstance was the anchor incision to be done, at most a lollipop incision could be done. Instead Dr. Schmid did an anchor cut. This far all the scars are significant, uneven and the tissue underneath is disheveled. Same day the surgery was done the patient suffered a significant loss of blood from… internal bleeding. Hgb dropped from about 13.8 into the 7's in matter of hours. The patient should have went to the ER where Dr. Schmid has admitting privelagrs but he had the patient come back to the office to open her abdominal surgery up again. Extremely unsafe but if patient would have went to the ED there would have been other doctors aware of this botched surgery. It led to weeks extra of having drains in place and at least 3 visits to the ED for complications for which Dr. Schmid refused to evaluate his patient. One of the drains dislodged and the nurse in Dr. Scmids office refused to evaluate the drain. ED visit CT scan showed the drain indeed dislodged. Additionally patient started having some altered mental status and severe headaches which Dr. Scmids again refused to evaluate his patient. He was aware a VP shunt was in place and should have been prudent to evaluate if there were any complications from the surgery. The drain appeared to have been compressed causing the fluid to back up resulting in the patient having seizures requiring the shubt to be replaced and the patient being hospitalized for 8 days. I personally called Dr Schmid days before the patient started having seizures imploring that he see his patient and evaluate. He never responded and his staff was not concerned. The surgery is very botched and will require extensive reconstruction. Patients life was put in danger and Dr. Schmid showed complete disregard. Pictures and medical reports can factually back up these statements.

Paid $100 for an abdominoplasty consult. Got to ask him exactly 3 questions during our astonishingly short interaction. You can tell he's a busy man. Kind-of gave me the creeps as well. I wouldn't trust him to do such an invasive procedure. He tried to sell it, didn't offer a realistic timeline of returning to work, driving, activities, etc. Everyone I spoke with really whitewashed things. Do your research. It's a difficult surgery to recover from but was not advertised as such. Also of concern... the fact that the procedure would only, by their estimation, take 2 hours. Good surgeons take much longer. Lastly, the proof is in the pudding. Look at the rock star surgerons and their after pictures. Compare schmid's belly buttons to theirs. There is no comparison. He's no Dr. Rahban.

Dr. Schmid did an amazing job. His staff was always available and helpful for question before and after the procedure.

I had a breast augmentation done with Dr. Schmid and am very happy with the results! The entire process was smooth and easy. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable going into surgery. I let him decide what size after discussing what I wanted and he did a wonderful job! I trusted him completely. Highly recommend! Very professional!

All that matters to Dr. Schmid is your money. I paid him 12 grand for liposuction. He took the minimum amount of fat and left my back basically untouched knowing it was my main concern. When I told him I was unhappy, he tried to convince me that it was my skin type and not his fault. I knew he had hardly touched it as there was hardly any trauma to it. I told him I wanted it fixed and he tried to tell me they would literally have to make big incisions and remove the skin. I am curvy but not fat. He was trying to scare me out of a touch up. I told him that was fine. He seemed very irritated with me because I wouldnt agree to Cool Sculpting instead. I had to wait 7 months after 1st surgery for this "touch up". Of course when I showed up he said we would just try lipo again. I had to stay awake for this procedure this time and it was painful. Second round and guest what?? He still didn't get an area of my back. The part he did is way better so I obviously didn't need skin removal, but… the part where I still have a big fold is one he didn't even mark to touch up. You would think he would get it right the 2nd time around. You would think I could trust him to do so considering it was my 2nd round. That's why I didn't ask for a mirror to make sure he marked the entire area. It was obvious where he should have marked. It was a lot of back fat. The lipo on my stomach left my stomach lumpy even though I did my part to massage it. Lipo under my chin did not give me results I expected. Nothing he did was to my satisfaction. Big mistake going to him.

Dr Robert P. Schmid, MD was always on a hurry. He did not honor his word on what we agreed before the surgery. when I was under the anesthesia. he went all the way around and didn't do what I paid for.

Had a breast reduction Sept 2017 with Dr Schmid. Dr Schmid and his staff are professional and answered all my questions that I had. I am very happy with my results. Wish I had done this sooner. Would recommend anyone who is considering a breast reduction to go see Dr Schmid.

I had the most Wonder experience with Dr Schmid and his staff. He’s the best around!
