A family practitioner is a doctor who specializes in caring for people of all ages, at all stages of life. Rather than focusing on the treatment of one disease or patient population, family practitioners are often the doctors that people see for their everyday ailments, like cold and flu or respiratory infections, and health screenings. When necessary, family practitioners will provide referrals for conditions that require the expertise of another specialist.
The doctors may also provide physicals, inoculations, prenatal care, treat chronic diseases, like diabetes and asthma, and provide advice on disease prevention.

Well if your shopping for pills and do not need any real medical care then he is your man! I wouldn't trust him to treat a head cold. If your a cash patient then it's $50. If your and insurance patient (which he doesn't accept many insurances Because he doesn't want to get re-certified to accept blue road, healthling, anthem) then it's your standard co pay plus his office bills your insurance $150 a visit?? So you make $50 if I'm a cash patient and $190 if I have insurance? Anyway His office is like a dungeon. It's out of date and nothing works. It's like being in an old dirty antique store. He simply sits in his chair and his "staff" (none of which have high school educations much less an RN or LPN) bring you into his room. He talks to you about politics or has you read a chapter out of whatever book he is reading at the time while he signs your script. I went their for 6 years to get opioids. Funny thing is the first time I went there I didn't have anything wrong with me I just asked if I could have some. He wrote me a script!? And did that once a month for 6 years. Never asked what was hurting or how I felt. I also thought it was funny a former dr whom lost his license to practice in cape girardeau mo for cocaine and writing people icy scripts was in George s office monthly writing out his own script and George just signing it. I'm since clean and sober 3 years. It was a tough habit to break especially since he made it so readily available. Can't believe with all the laws cracking down on pain pills he's still practicing. I guess he does just enough to stay in the limit of the law.
I have been to (and worked for) countless doctors in the area, and I have to say that Dr. George has been a Godsend. My mother and I both see him, both with chronic, difficult-to-manage conditions, and he has taken extraordinary care of us both. His staff is kind and caring, and Dr. George himself has been understanding, patient, and compassionate throughout the entire time we have been patients of his. Is the office itself a little dark and old-fashioned? Sure. But I have previously been a patient of the former specialist that used that office space, and it looked exactly the same then. So it hasn't been remodeled - who really cares? And frankly, I would go to a doctor's appointment in a hovel if it meant I would receive the care that I get from Dr. George. From day one, he has been more concerned about my health than the size of my wallet (a lot more than I can say for any other doctor in the area, and probably why he still works in an "old" office, instead of a multi-million dollar one, the cost of which would be passed down to the patient). I would recommend Dr. George to anyone with confidence.
I am surprised that Dr. George is actually a real doctor. His office reeked of cigarette smoke, even in the waiting room. I have asthma and this caused me to have an asthma attack right there in his office. The office is also extremely filthy. There was dust COATING all the furniture and window sills. There were dead bugs and leaves on the floor and in the window. There were cobwebs everywhere. A lot of the medical equipment there was broken. Even the scale was broken and all taped up. That isn't even the bad part. I went to Dr. George to get an itchy rash on my arms & ears looked at. He didn't even look at it. Instead he just told me not to worry about it because it would probably just go away. Then he told me that I wasted my money coming there!! He also said to me as I was walking out of the room, "I would worry more about the pimples on your face than the rash on your arms." I had 2 pimples on my face and THAT'S IT! NOTHING to be concerned over. In all, he spent maybe two minutes on me and didn't even look at my rash! I waited almost two hours in the waiting room just to see him and it wasn't even busy in there. But in the end, he was right. I DID WASTE MY MONEY GOING THERE!
