Dr. Robin Debra Rothstein, MD

I've had at least 5 major surgeries related to health issues including 2 cancers . I've had some questionable care. I had become seriously phobic of doctors but Dr. Rothstein is sympathetic and insightful. My problems are not yet completely resolved (and may never be) but there is improvement. She treats my husband for Crohn's and he recommended her to me. He has seen her for 10 years and is doing excellently. An earlier reviewer criticized her office and staff, but she has moved to a new practice since that was written. The staff is pleasant and I definitely do not feel pressured to get colonoscopies. One does often have to wait a bit in the waiting room but I accept this as a consequence of her spending time with every patient.

Dr. Rothstein is a kind and caring doctor, I don't know how accurate a diagnostician she is because she was unable to resolve my issue, but that might be because there isn't a solution as of yet. I am getting a second opinion. My biggest issues were that she seem to regularly go back and forth on how to proceed next and how the practice is run. It is obvious that the bottom line is the number one priority rather than medical care, I would compare it to a high volume body shop, you are not a human being in need, but a dollar sign. The staff for the most part are unhelpful and a few are quite nasty (there are one or two rare exceptions). The wait is long because they don't have enough exam rooms and they overbook. If you need to communicate or follow up with your doctor it, forget it, it won't happen. They have a 20 bed capacity to do colonscopy testing and that seems to be their bread and butter so expect to get one.

Given what the field that Dr. Rothstein has chosen, she is surprisingly upbeat, knowledgable and has a great bed side manner! The staff is excellent as well. Despite the uncomfortable nature f my visit, i left with a smile on my face!
