Dr. Ronald J. Scheff

My sister had Stage 4 lung cancer. He told her that she can survive this fir another six years . She passed away 80 days later. In addition, he never visited her in the hospital and had residents take over. Dr. Scheff didn’t even know she had been admitted until I called to tell his office. Even then he never appeared or administered prescriptions. I was disappointed in his care.

I went to Dr. Scheff for my chemo plan during my treatment for a very fatal and aggressive brain tumor. He was and is very honest and forthcoming. I have seen him every visit for the past 5+ years. I have never known him to give false hope. He is candid but also sensitive to the patients concerns. It has been a successful journey thus far and I will always be grateful for his professionalism and humor throughout this journey. I highly recommend Dr. Scheff. He doesn’t ruffle easily so bring it on! Daniele,his administrative assistant is awesome and is readily available to answer questions regarding appts, test results etc, In fact, his entire staff is cordial and caring. My sister went to see Dr. Scheff two months before she passed away. He told her she could live another six years with a Stage 4 Lung Cancer diagnosis. He never came to see her in the hospital only once. Had residents take care without any input.

Great doctor! I have been battling stage 4 lung cancer for seven years with Dr. Scheff and the Weill Cornell team. His office staff is responsive and very pleasant. Messages and requests for information are handled without delay. Dr. Scheff is caring and a good listener. Answers to questions are clear and honest. I always leave the office with an action plan and an understanding of my medical status. I highly recommend him.

My sister was diagnosed with lung cancer stage 4. Dr. Schaffer’s had amazing reviews. From the time she was in the hospital, he was invisible . Never saw her, but once. Never knew when she was admitted. She had residents whom she didn’t know take care. This isn’t what she had wanted while in the hospital.

Dr Scheff and his office, unlike all the others we called, fit us in for an appointment the day after we received diagnosis from biopsy from another doctor at another hospital not covered under our insurance.Not at all rattled by the seven family members that joined the patient in the office during initial consultation, Dr Scheff was very professional, to the point, gentle with his words, but honest, and even expressed humor when appropriate. When we were told it would be one more week before she could start chemo, he talked to the nurses and got us scheduled in the next day. One doctor that seems genuinely concerned for his patiens, their families and the quality of life after a lung cancer diagnosis.
