Dr. Saad Al Alou has the following 2 specialties
- Adolescent Medicine
Adolescent specialists are doctors who have advanced training in the health issues that adolescents face. These physicians deal with issues like the onset of puberty, reproductive health, eating disorders, irregular periods, mood changes, drugs and pressures from home and school. For girls entering adulthood, adolescent specialists can act as both pediatrician and gynecologist, so they only have to see one doctor for all their needs.
A pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in the regular care of children, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of illness in children. Young patients are often more complicated to treat because they are still growing and developing.
While pediatricians may sub-specialize in specific therapy areas like oncology, surgery, ophthalmology, and anesthesiology, in general, pediatricians provide services like vaccinations, health exams, and treatment of common ailments and injuries. In addition, pediatricians are trained to handle the complex emotional and behavioral issues faced by children, especially during puberty.
Pediatricians normally see their patients from birth until the age of 18, although some may agree to treat patients into their early 20s, if requested.

This is a pediatrician that will forever leave a NEGATIVE lasting impression on me and my children. In a nutshell, he managed to display the most awful traits any physician should have. He insulted my parenting in choosing to abstain from some childhood vaccines, he said my beliefs were wrong and that he KNEW better than me. He continued to stress that our parenting choices using alternative remedies in addition to his care was foolish. Lastly, he kept pushing for me to have my 12 year old child get the new Gardisil vaccine. The same vaccine that left several girls dead shortly after receiving this vaccine. No way will we return to him!!!! On a positive note, the front desk staff is friendly.
I was taking my two kids there for years!!! Then one day they told us we owed them Money!! money that I didn't know of until that day!!! The lady that was doing the billing was very rude and made it seem like it had been there for years and we need it to pay!!! I asked the staff why was I not informed of it sooner and she explained they got a new software and that it was show up now what was owed!!!! Now I have always pay what I owed!! Went home my husband and I talked about it!! We could not afford to pay the amount that they where asking at the time!!!! Time passes!! And my kids were doing great right no issues!! Well with our busy schedule forgot to pay the dumb bill!!! What do they do I was told "since it had been there for years" mind we just found out!!! We were told!!! In this exact words " oh, now that your kids need to see him you want to pay!!!! Wow!!!! So they kicked us out!!!! Yes kicked us out!!! When my son need it him the most!!!! And we were going to pay!!!!!! Ugh!!! Frustrating!!!
If you were to compare Sunset Peds or Yuma Peds to Dr. Saad Al Alou's office, Dr. Al Alou's office is by far the better place to take your child. I actually liked Dr. Al Alou. He did seem to care about the kids & he talked to each one them individually and to me as well. My youngest child had some issues when he was an infant and was considered "high risk" and Dr. AL Alou took it serious. Which I appreciated. The $25. fee for a missed appointment I understand but when your child ends up in the hospital with less than 24 hours before his scheduled appointment you still get charged the $25 misssed appointment fee. There are no exceptions in this policy. Not even for a death in he family which a patient even showed them the proof. They didn't care they told the mother that its policy 24 notice must be given or a $25. fee will be charged regardless. This strict policy nor Dr. Al Alou are not why he is NO LONGER my childrens doctor. His office staff made too many mistakes. His Medical Assistant although she is nice she does not know how to give shots correctly. She injects the needle all the way to the hub which you're not suppose to ever do anyways. Because she inserts the entire needle straight in, she hit the bone in my newborn's leg everytime. She also goes to deep under the skin when doing a TB which can cause an inaccurate TB reading. The office staff makes mistakes and when confronted they put blame on everyone else. They messed up prescriptions twice & blamed the pharmacy. On both occasions both pharmacies said the same thing "that this happens alot with this office & they always blame the pharmacy." The final straw for me was when I noticed the mistake they made on my childrens immunization records. I pay close attention to my childs medical needs. I know what immunizations they get & how many of each & what age they are to receive them. So I know what shots they received & did not receive during their office visit. Before putting away my childrens immunization records I looked them over. I noticed they had signed off on the wrong immunizations on 2 of the records. What they did was mix up the 2. This mistake should never happen if the proper steps are taken when signing off on a child's immunization record. When I confronted them of their mistake they argued with me. At first they tried blamming the previous Dr.'s office in vegas. After I proved that to be false they tried blamming me. Seriously!! They think I'm so stupid they could convince me it wasn't them who made the mistake. The date & their initials were cleary documented & if was clear that child 1 needed the shots they documented on child 2's record and the shots child 2 needed was docunented on child 1's record but no way did they make a mistake so I had to be wrong. After 25 minutes of arguing with them they finally fixed the 2 records. This mistake can easily happen so its important you ask what the immunization they are about to administer. Ask before each one thats ahout to be given & know which ones your child needs and doesn't need at that time. Also, check the documentation on the shot record. Incorrect documentation can lead to your child not receiving the 2nd or 3rd dose needed to be immunized from that disease or receiving a 2nd or 3rd that isn't necessary. No doctor takes care of you just himself. He relies on his staff to help him care for each & every patient he has. The office staff in doctors & hospitals have a very important role towards providing you good medical care. I now take my children to Dr. A Alou's brother Fahd Al Alou. The wait is a little longer but its worth it. Great doctor like Dr. Al Alou just much better office staff. Which means better care.
About a month ago I brought my two kids in for an appointment. The front office staff kept insisting that I owed money and said I could not see the doctor until the amount was paid. I asked to speak with the biller and they told me she was not available and some young guy who was rude and barely spoke English tried to explain what I owed. He was very rude!!! I kept insisting that I want to talk to the biller and they finally gave me her number. She was very friendly and helpful and was able to explain the bill to me and was very professional and courteous. I was able to setup a payment plan and was seen by they Dr. I had never gotten the bill because the front office "forgot" to update my address when I was in in December. I would have left an never have come back if the biller had not helped me.
I called in to schedule an appointment for my son at 3 pm. Was given an appointment for 11 the next morning. My son was better by the next morning so I called to cancel by 8:30 am and was charged the $25 cancellation fee. Spoke to the office manager and she was did not care that the appoinment was made less than 24 hours ago which is standard policy to cancel an appointment. Front staff have always been great!
