Dr. Sabah Ali H Al-Attar, MD

Dr. Al-Attar cared for my father during his last days at Heartland Ann Arbor. The doctor's top priority was my father's pain relief and comfort. I strongly recommend him.

I am sorry but this man has no manners. He is rude and uncompassonniate. He waits too long to do anything about patients. I expressed my concerns repeatedly about my loved one while they were at a rehab facility. My loved one suffered and declined for 2 weeks and the last 4 days of that 2 weeks she had difficulty breathing. My loved one ended up back in the hospital with major health concerns. I hope I NEVER meet this man again.

This "dr" has no place working with humans. He speaks to his patients like they are animals beneath him. He speaks over me constantly and doesn't let me explain myself or ask questions. He just rushes me out of the room to have his poor overworked receptionist schedule me for tests that aren't even relevant to my complaints! My first visit I mentioned I had a history of back pain after an accident, just informing him of my medical history and he became very irritated and pointed his finger and said "listen I will tell u, u will not get these narcotic pills from me" making me feel extremely uncomfortable considering I have not taken narcotic pain meds in over ten years and certainly wasn't planning on asking for any! No patient should have to be treated like this, simply for seeking a new physician. I had not seen any dr in almost 10 years! Now I have anxiety about scheduling with a new dr afraid of what I could run into next. Truely shameful.

I've been seeing Dr. Al-Attar since 2005, maybe 2004. He always explains what he is doing and why he is doing it (tests, medications, etc.) He is very thorough in terms of assessing all possible diagnosis and treatment options. In addition, it is easy to get an appointment for an urgent situation. When first meeting Dr. Al-Attar, he may seem a little gruff, but I have found him to be very compassionate. For example, Dr. Al-Attar does not provide gyn examinations. When I had some trouble with my gyn because he would not pursue various medical options due to his religion, Dr. Al-Attar was very supportive of my efforts to find a specialist and my need to pursue a medical regimine that was appropriate for me. I highly recommend him.

worst bedside manner,he need to go back to medical school and learn about compassionate medicine and empathy!!!

Dr Al-Attar was a very kind and smart man and really helped me out a lot over the years until I moved to California. I highly recommend him to anyone.
