Dr. Saira Tariq Niaz, MD

The service went downhill once the practice left 5900 Hillandale Dr. Do not go here if you have something else to do that day because you are guaranteed to wait at least 45 minutes past your actual appointment time to even get called to a room for vitals. Then you're gonna wait another 25-30 minutes for the doctor/NP to see you. This practice has the potential to be as great as it was when I first became a patient but they don't seem to care.

I had a good experience at the office from the person that checked me to the doctor. I have recommended several of my family there.

I have been a patient if Dr Niaz for over 7 years now and I have seen staff come and go, but both new and old are always so friendly and welcoming. The office feels like home. They moved last year to a private building and it took some getting use to but I like it better now. It has an intimate feel to it. The nurse practitioners are really good, but I prefer Dr. Niaz since she is the kinda of Dr who tells you like it is. She doesn’t miss a beat. She is fast, but time is an issue for me so I appreciate that. Sometimes when you call you can’t get anyone on the phone, but they are good about calling you back within a few hours. I have tried another doctor when I moved to Stockbridge, but they didn’t compare to Sr Niaz’s office so I drove from Stockbridge to Lithonia for my appointments, and I don’t mind at all. Keep up the good work, the combination of good doctor and good staff is hard to find these days!

Great experience - great review - great visit!! Whether the review is good or not, each person is responsible for their own health! For those not quite satisfied, find a physician that will take care of your needs and health! Most of all, take your health seriously and find whoever meets your expectation.

Dr. Niaz mailed me a letter after she verbally ended our patient/ doctor relationship in the middle of a medical procedure. She did not complete a medical lab procedure and she has horrible bedside manner. She acts off of emotion when told how unprofessional her staff is. She is never around and there are always new people working in her office. The is not about whether she is nice or not this is about what is required of a medical license holder and a medical professional. I have been a patient for over 5 years so there is no reason for me to create this narrative.

This office has locations that are in areas that house minority groups (for example Blacks-Dekalb/ Hispanics-Gwinnett) as a result they are not use to speaking to educated patients who understand HIPAA and the medical field thoroughly. I am aware that there are lots of educated people in Dekalb and Gwinnett but this is a doctor who accepts government programs for payment which in most cases are utilized by people below the poverty line. Most people who live below the poverty line don’t challenge doctors/ office staff and as a result the doctors office can get away with subpar service. However they get uncomfortable when confronted with facts from educated patients and don’t have a rebuttal. When put on the spot they cut ties with you, so since there’s no loyalty to me I have no loyalty to Dr. Niaz. This place on many occasions have broken HIPAA laws. The turnover rate appears to be high because there’s always someone new in the front office or triage area. Stay away, as a… matter fact RUN.

They start off nice at the Hillandale office but eventually the unprofessionalism presents itself. There are always new front office staff which puts your private info in the hands of randoms. They sent my labs to the wrong lab instead of the one that my insurance pays for, therefore I ended up with a bill and negative marks on my credit report, they eventually fixed it after two months but not until after my credit score dropped significantly. (and after they kept telling me that it was fixed but it wasn’t) It’s almost rare that I was able to get an appointment with the actual doctor, which means you will be seen by PA’s or FNP’s, who you also don’t know. I had an appointment once at the Gwinnett office and they cancelled my appointment on a Saturday due to some type of “emergency” therefore I drove to Gwinnett from Cobb for nothing. They constantly diagnosed me as obese at every visit since according to my BMI I’m considered overweight but will only offer appetite… suppressants (that are helping me with my weight) for 2-3 months due to the “side effects” (that I did not have) but continued to prescribe me blood pressure medication for 4, maybe 5 plus years even though those meds also have dangerous “side effects”. So it didn’t seem like the side effects were their concern at all. Clearly if I lose weight I won’t need the blood pressure medication and obviously I require/ need help with my weight issue if it’s a diagnosis at every visit. So it would make more sense to address the cause of hypertension instead of pacifying it for years with medication. Nonetheless as long as I have hypertension I will have to pay her for visits every three months, because in order to get blood pressure meds I need to go to her to get blood work, which seemed more important to this office I guess. Sad. I pointed out the unprofessionalism of the staff to Dr. Niaz and instead of her showing compassion, she was more focused on proving me wrong even though she’s not around when it’s happening. She then had Asia (the same person who negatively impacted my credit after saying she fixed the error with the lab work) to call and terminate my relationship with her office later today. To be clear Dr. Niaz had someone else call to end an over 5 year doctor/ patient relationship with me after I have spent thousands of dollars with her. Just horrible. Trust me I have been put out of better places. If you value intimate relationships with medical professionals and good bedside manner this is NOT the office. You will meet new staff every time and they will ask you the reason for your visit in the waiting area in front of other patients. (which is a HIPAA violation). They also don’t remove the sign-in stickers after each patient which allows you to see the other patients who came before you. (also a HIPAA violation). This place is driven by money based on my experience. When you point out their flaws the office will end their relationship with you.

The Doctor and the staff openly talks about the patient. PLEASE try to follow HIPPA guidelines.
