Dr. Saligrama Balaram Bhat, MD

Bhat refuses to prescribe medications with refills. So when you run out, the pharmacy calls him and he refuses to refill. He also won't return calls. He is either an arrogant fascist who is a control freak or has dementia and forgets things and doesn't know what he's doing. He had a medical malpractice lawsuit resulting in the patient's death which was settled out of court. This can easily be google as I'm not allowed to post the link. Either way, stay away. He's bad news.

Dr Bhat was very easy to get to see. He also required almost every test done that could be done. These are about the only good things I have to say about him. The first thing his nurse do is ask if you need any refills on current medicine. They use scratch paper only for the entire visit- never your file. Sometimes you have to wait more than a week for him to send in to pharmacy, sometimes it never happens. He orders almost every test done you can imagine then cannot tell you anything about it. He freely admitted he had never looked at the results!.. Also he would schedule me to come in at least every week to receive a breathing treatment when I do them at home. I feel all this is done just so he can bill the insurance co. I have been treated for COPD and acute Bronchitis for many years. The only thing he wants me to do is the sleep apnea machine. This is now Friday and I am still waiting for refills that were turned into his office on Tuesday morning while in his office. … If looking for a good Dr. I would NOT recommend Dr. Bhat, Also he doesn't appear to like women.

This is the worst doctor in the world. first, he is stupid and its hard to believe he ever went to med school or passed boards. He should not be touching patients as I believe he may be impaired. he has poor judgement, refuses to work with other specialties or ancillary support services unless he has a vested interest in working with them for kick backs. check out his red porche which is the result of the financial gains attributed to kick backs from several of his own owned companies. I will file complaints with CMS and with OIG. he should have his license revoked. he is arrogant, no respect for women, does not like to be questioned about his treatment plans, does not have respect for other physicians or nurses. he practices as a solo doc and refuses to see his patients when they are in patient and in ICUs. he flat out refused to see my mother while she was in patient in ICU (due to his inadequate knowledge about COPD and cardiac disease) and then refused to speak to the… nurses, the other doctors or to the family. we intend to seek out an attorney to go after this incompetent physician.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bhat's for about 6 or more years. I came to him after being seen by other doctors for my pulmonary issues with no help and frequent episodes of bronchitis and asthma every year. Thanks to his medical expertise he accurately diagnosed me and placed me on the right medicine which changed my life. He listens to me, respects my opinion, is never too rushed to spend whatever time is needed and is very caring. I highly recommend him.

My 90 year young neighbor was a patient of Dr. Bhat's. She had appointed me Health Care Surrogate. I can't answer how easy it is to get an appointment or wait time but I do know he was excellent with her in the hospital. His bed side manner is great and he called me several times while she was in the hospital to update me on her situation. He always took time to answer any questions I had, both in person and on the phone, and I never felt he was in a hurry. This was the first time I had ever met Dr. Bhat and he is very caring and compassionate. My neighbor was very fussy and hard to please but always spoke highly of Dr. Bhat. From what I've seen, I would highly recommend him. He truly cares about his patients.

Dr Bhat is a caring and compassionate physician. He takes the time to answer all calls and personal responded to me and my family members. He truly cares about the patient and the overall care. He has made us feel as though we are part of his family. I would recommend him who is in need of an excellent Internal medicine or Pulmonologist.He has always fit us in for appointments. Even if there is a wait time, we know that he is taking care of his patients in the hospital and understand any wait is due to this.

very uninterested, irresponisible, with insurance company, seems to care only about the dollar

My first visit I offered my medical records ,he stated he did not need them. Was very rude,nasty and condsending. Wait time is a joke. Charges one thing ,we paid then he billed our insurance co. more and balance billed us. We are going to write the medical board about him. We are in our 70.s and he was not interested in our history. He did not help us at all. This is our opinion
