Dr. Sanjay Stanley Masilamani, MD

I have ADHD. I scheduled an appointment at the behest of my PCP to confirm and continue treatment. Dr. Masilamani accused me of addiction while refusing to review my previous medical history and dismissing all concerns I presented to him. He condescendingly suggested that any medication given to me after an upcoming surgery be monitored to a caregiver since I cannot be trusted with any prescribed drugs. I do not drink. I do not use any recreational, unprescribed medication, and have not done so for over thirty (30) years. I am a 61-year-old woman of color in the LGBTQ+ community and a graphic designer by trade. I am mortified that this man is allowed to practice. I suggest that anyone seeking care from him think twice about this decision.

I had an initial consultation with Dr. Masilamani, and it was not helpful at all. I had specific concerns which needed addressing. I have been seeing psychiatrists for about 30 years, and I feel I can offer a lot of insight into my condition, and the treatments that work for Me. However, Dr. Masilamani, did not seem to be listing, or even sympathetic to my concerns. I did not need anything for anxiety, but he repeatedly told me he did not prescribe Benzo’s. Moreover, my primary concern was lack of focus, and continuing issues with ADHD. I am an attorney, and starting a new practice area. He simply stated he does not prescribe stimulants, and did not offer any alternative treatment.
