Dr. Sara Mukherjee, MD

It can't any worse than this, she will make you wait for an hour and stay with you for less than 5 minutes. she won't let you explain, very intrusive and disrespectful.

I have been with Dr. Mukerjee for several years. I first saw her in 2009 for abdominal pain. She was not accepting new patients then, but she still sent me for tests, biopsy, etc., which showed a mass on my pancreas. I had it removed. The suegeon told me it would have become cancerous. I am grateful to Dr. Mukerjee for not messing around and getting the tests done promptly that I needed before surgery. So I went with another doctor since she wasn't accepting new patients, but that doctor moved. So a couple years ago when it happened, I found Dr. Mukerjee was accepting new patients and so I signed up. I know she's late to the appointments, but she spends a lot of time with me, and I am sure she does with each patient. She got me to lose weight by her bluntness: "we want to keep you around as long as possible" or "we want to keep those kidneys working as long as possible." She talks to me if I change the way I'm taking my pills without letting her know. If I have a bad test result,… she is on it. She will retest; analyze why; how can we fix this? I feel like her partner in my health. Yes, she does talk fast and a lot, but she asks me for input and questions and if I will comply (she knows me well!) She goes over what she's typing so we both know her recommendations. She follows up. She truly cares. I've had other KP docs who didn't seem to care, in fact I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol for years because some over there don't care. But Dr. Mukerjee cares and cares a lot. A lot of the way she talks is because she is very encouraging and I don't believe a lot of doctors are They just want you in and out without taking the time to get to know and treat the whole person. I am glad Dr. Mukerjee is my primary care physician.

The worst doctor I have ever seen. She is very rude and insulting, please keep away from her.

Absolutely the worst doctor i have ever had. The wait time is 45 min to 1 hour. The she will leave you in the middle and leaves to attend a phone and keep you waiting for another 40 min. She wouldn't let you speak, very disrespectful. She works part time and is not easy to get appointment. I switched right away.. don't waste your time, its a hobby for her.

I switched over to Kaiser Permanete (KP)after hearing a co-work talk about her glowing and continued happiness with her doctors. It was a few dollars more, but what made me take the leap was lower co-pay should a large medical emergency occur. This is what I love about Dr. Mukherjee, MD 1. Honestly, I picked her blind off the list. I have had good luck with this approach, and switching doctors at KP is just a click. Dr. M is friendly, knowledgeable and is very diligent about keeping reminders in front of me. Following up is her strength and I have never felt lost in the shuffle. I like that we are about the same age and we casual chat about our kids, how getting old is a battle... 2. Book afternoons. KP seems to be busiest in the mornings, so I always go in the afternoons. Dr. M patiently answers all my questions and has been a knowledgeable and great doctor for me. She posts readable and understandable directions directly into my KP account so I can retrieve this data,… review past tests for any time. I love having all my vision, medical and test results all in one place. 3. Sick Days. On days when I needed a FAST - that day - appointment I skipped the online appointment feature and called the 800 number and got the appointment needed. 4. KP is the only way to go. I have had my gyn annual, blood taken, picked up an RX and gotten a mammo and been out in an hour. All folks were professional and efficient. I am horrified now by how difficult it was at non-KP sites. Just not waiting EVER AGAIN at CVS etc for my RX is worth its weight in gold. 5. Large medical events. I had a friend who had vision surgery through KP and he extremely happy. Happy with docs, facilities and said out-of-pocket was minimal. I like those stories. 6. FINAL SUMMARY. I do love KP. Love my doc even more. Vision is covered. Lots of free seminars. My GYN and VISION docs are great too. Why go anywhere else...???

I've visited Dr. Mukherjee at least 10 times in the past 2 years , she hardly spend time with patients, she won't let patient explain the condition. she will cut you off in the middle.

Why -is what I think now after 4 years of having her as my doctor - why didnt I switch sooner? She can have a false/nice manner - only to state in the same voice an emotion something very insulting. I had to fight and go around her to be helped when seriously ill and finally received help after following up with a different doctor.
