Dr. Sarah Lauren Chagnon

We have been seeing Dr. Chagnon, along with her physician assistant Allyse Harris, for over a year. I have never been more disappointed and dissatisfied with a medical practice. On three different occasions, these providers forgot to email my daughter’s prescription to the pharmacy, which I did not realize until I went to pick up the medication. And, trying to call the office about theses mishaps has been an even bigger nightmare because I can never call and talk to a person; I have to leave a message and hope and pray that someone will eventually return my call. No one in that office seems to think that returning parent phone calls is very important. It generally takes three or four attempts before someone will return my call. Currently, I have been waiting for a return call, and a new prescription, for over a week. As another parent stated in an earlier review, Dr. Chagnon is very pleasant during the 15 minute office visit, and she always says, “please call if you have any… questions or concerns,” but that sentiment goes as far as the office walls. Unfortunately, since there are so few pediatric mental health practitioners in the area, these providers know that we have to deal with whatever poor service we receive. It is extremely frustrating to be the parent of a child who has to rely on these doctors for her wellbeing, especially when the doctors don’t seem to care at all about the children they serve. It is shameful to be paid so well for such incompetent, indifferent, unreliable healthcare.

I have 2 special needs kids, so I am unfortunately in and out of CHKD many times per year. The staff at this office is the worst I have ever encountered, anytime, anywhere. I have left many, many messages for Dr. Chagnon's nurse/assistant; none have been returned. Literally none. It took forever to even GET an appointment with Dr Chagnon, and she is really a very nice person who tells you to call anytime with any issues, and seems to care a lot about her patients. Well, that's awfully nice, but if the staff does not allow your call to get through, then that offer of availability is just useless. I can't even get someone to get back to me about run of the mill prescription refills, much less answer important questions. This office is a joke, and they give CHKD a bad name.
