Dr. Savitha Balaraman, MD

After working for 25 yrs managing a busy breast care center I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Dr. Balarama was so kind and caring while offering me hope. Unfortunately I had complications from my first chemotherapy treatment. A month long hospital stay and 3 weeks in a rehab center during Covid was difficult. I couldn’t walk or tend to myself. Fast forward to today. I’m on a new chemotherapy regiment, Enhertu. The results have been amazing. Now in remission. The staff are extremely kind and caring. The infusion room supports an atmosphere of healing. I would recommend Dr Balarama to anyone experiencing the life changing cancer experience.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2020 and was terribly nervous and scared, to say the least. The word oncologist is scary enough but after meeting Dr. Balaraman, I actually was given hope accompanied with a very detailed plan of care. If anything arose out of the ordinary during my treatment she was steadfast in finding solutions. She is very meticulous and her demeanor is well thought out. Her reputation of caring for her patients exceeds her and I am a witness to that! I am 2 treatments away from completing my immunotherapy treatments, however, if my Cancer returns (God forbid) I would not hesitate in requesting Dr. Balaraman again! She is a Godsend!

Dr. B is always willing to take her time with me and explain my results until I truly understand what they mean. She is honest and so thorough - contacting other doctors to make sure I am receiving the best type of care for my cancer. Since she is so giving of her time to her patients, it can sometimes be hard to get ahold of her, but once she is speaking with you, she is worth the wait!

Dr Balararman is an excellent oncologist. I have been going to her for 7 years now for bone cancer and now liver and now all my scans are looking good. My chemo treatments are also looking good.

Having been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, choices were not that good. Dr. Balaraman paid attention to our concerns, gave us the greatest treatment and 5 years later, I am here and have Dr. Balaraman and Dr. Grills to thank for that. My daughter has been a patient of dr. Balaraman for 10 1/2 years. She has had stage 4 colon cancer for that long. Dr. Balaraman was highly recommended to us by my sister’s pulmonologist. Once we met her we could understand why. During each visit she makes sure she answers all of our questions and never hurries us through our appointment time. If she needs information or wants to consult with one of my sister’s physicians she will actually call them while you are with her so you get instant feedback. She always treats my sister with the utmost respect and is one of the most compassionate physicians we have met so far in our cancer battle. Her kindness sets the tone for the entire office and that takes a little bit of the sting out of the horrible circumstances that brought us to her to begin with. And yes, you might have to wait a bit to see her on your appointment day but she is worth it...

When I first started, I felt the wait times were very long but she recognized this and worked to address this by changing her schedule.

I've been a patient of Dr. Balaraman for about two years. She does take time to address all my questions. I come in prepared. I have them written down. She gives me options as to my treatment. I think she is up to date on all the latest treatments. I had a second opinion while on a trip to Florida at one of the finest cancer centers. I was told she was doing everything "right". Patients who complained about waiting, then said she didn't spend enough time with them are contradicting themselves. If she spends too much time with each patient the wait time would be longer. I have never felt rushed.

Waiting time is terrible, all employees are as rude as the Dr. , never get results, she rushes you after a long wait, can't get the answers you want, thinks she knows everything about medicine, I need to find a new oncologist, I will not be talked down to like a peasant, she can be replaced and will be, the whole place sucks

Dr. Balaraman is not only a skilled doctor , she is compassionate and an excellent communicator. I would recommend her to friends and family with no reservation.
