If I could give zero stars I would. He may be an amazing surgeon but curtesy goes a long way . He never explained anything to me and spend about 30 sec with me. I stopped him and tried to get info out of him and he gave me this degrading answer. He acted like I the mother was nothing. He then told me not to pray for my son, cause on the brace would work not me praying. What gives him the right to tell me not to pray for my sick son. Wow. I’m just so angry and upset. Stay away.

I’m not sure he is not an expert Dr or it’s a dirty business, He gave my 7 month daughter brace for her completely normal legs for 3 months! And he wanted to continue the treatment for longer, but I saved my baby with diagnosed of two perfect specialists. I’m too upset that my little baby spent 3 months of her happiness time of life with pain and difficulty.

Our 1st visit we were rushed through photos of MRI/xray images while hearing a speedy 5 minute diagnosis. Following was an explanation of 2 required surgerys,1st to be scheduled in 6 weeks, then2 minutes of what happens after surgery and with the cast, after the cast, stitches,etc...boom. any questions! By the time I took a breath to even think of a question he was gone. His asst. would take his calls but be out fo 10 days at a time. When we needed to make a 2 wk followup he would be out of town. 6 week appt, out of town. 1st surgery we saw him 5 min outside the OR, but he had the fellow and resident come up to the hospital room that night and next morning before discharge. 2nd surgery he saw us outside OR for about 1 or 2 minutes and showed a small grainy photo and said that it was just like the other foot ,then left. He wasnt available to remove her cast after 2 and half weeks and because he'd never come up to her room in the hospital, we just went to another Dr in the group.He… never gave us a nurse to contact. The woman we were told to call was the occupational therapist but I called her with questions about medications assuming she was a nurse. It was about narcotic pain meds and she gave me the wrong info but I had no idea that she wasn'nt a nurse .Also both foot surgerys have 2ndary stomach cut to remove fat pad,therefore stitches. 1st surgery they got infected. He denied it but our pediatrician treated it with antibiotics. This surgery her foot stitches are jagged and the nerve has been aggrivated. Both of these areas had been stitched by residents at the time of the surgery. After 2nd surgery the fellow released us Thu with only 2 days of pain meds and no dr or pharmacy at Rady is open sat or sun. My husband had to call ortho dr on OR to get meds.They had to recast her foot 3 times the 1st week on 2nd foot. Dr Mubarak knows nothing after he put down the scalpel in OR and left.They are pushing PT now but we are seeking a pain management Dr to see if the foot is ok before we start PT.This dr,who is chief of surgery of ortho is the only Childrens Hospital without a user friendly website with support, information, contacts,etc.

average doc, waited 1 hour and then another 30 min to get out of parking lot.... should have gone to primary physician for question... charged my insurance and me $200 for 10 min apt.

Dr Mubarak has been an amazing help with diagnosing and performing my surgery i am recovering from the last one he has changed my life is very friendly and skilled at what he does

He gave the same diagnosis as another physician we saw for our 2 year-old and the treatment was right on (orthopedic shoes to use during nightime). It may be that the diagnosis was really simple or that he is indeed very knowledgeable, I don't know which one. BUT, he spent about 30 seconds with her and walked away without answering any of our questions (he left that part for another Dr.). Probably because he is too mighty important to do that (he certainly thinks so).

Dr. Mubarak saved my life, many years ago at UCSD, when no one else could accurately diagnose what he found, as osteomyelitis. He was diligent, professional,compassionate, and to me, then a panicked child, he was calm and easy with me, and took the time to help me to understand what he needed to do, and why. 3 surgeries and a month of hospitalization, and I was on my way to being healthy again. It has been more years than I care to admit, but I will always remember him, and always be very grateful. Thank you Dr. Mubarak!

Dr Mubarak went above & beyond what he had to do to heip me! He even had a Dr do him a favor & come in on a Saturday to do some tests I needed! I'll always be grateful to him for all he did to help me!!!!

Very knowledgeable, my daughter's surgery went just as planned, caring, professional doctor, he's going to operate on her other hip soon.
