Well the office staff is horrible. They call my primary contact instead of me. They couldn't get my common prescription placed with Publix after 4 phone calls. Today I have my colonoscopy so I will update on Dr. Shorr as he has been very good so far.

I've been with Dr. Schorr for over ten years - he has done a fantastic job with my issues and resolved everything. Billing has been uneventful with normal insurance processing - it honestly could not have been better. I highly recommend.

The doctor is "OK" but the office is terrible. They do not coordinate insurance and will leave you with a large bill! They are not friendly and treat patients as a number at best.

A lot could have been avoided if he just put more effort into his patients. Another doctor ended up finding out the source of my issue. I felt like he wrote me off, didn't take me seriously and it caused me a great deal of stress and pain but of course I was just an "emotional woman " in the medical records to him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schorr for about ten years. I have nothing but good things to say about him. he always takes time to explain things to me and does a good job. I have had numerous tests over these ten years and always find out pretty quickly what the problem is. he is very thorough in his testing and phone calls are returned promptly. I am very satisfied with him and his staff.

The billing staff is rude.(Amanda) If you have to set up payments make sure you Dont ever have any problems making payments. Had to lower my payment due to lost of job. For over a year it was ok then I called to make my Feburary payment and Amanda insisted that I needed to make a payment that i could not afford. Lord help if you see Dr Schoor and need a referral to another dr for cancer surgery. He wants to use one dr and if he is not on your insurance you are on your own. As soon as my bill is paid off hopefully soon I wiil have no reason to be in contact with this office. Dr Field Willingham at Emory has been a Blessing.

I went to Dr Schorr at recommendation of another doctor because of acute abdominal pain, swelling, fever, chills. While got in to see him quickly, and he spent appropriate time with me, prescribed antibiotics and ordered CT scan, which did reveal a problem -- his office staff prevents getting adequate care beyond that. No sense of urgency in scheduling tests (nurse stated needed over a week to call and pre-cert because she has patients) ??, they cancel your appointment made 2 weeks prior, 2 days before your appt if another appt is not booked prior to yours (their policy is to not have a 2 hour gap as the doctor doesn't want to be there) ??, and once you get your test results, they do not call with them for over a week??. Their callback time (msg confirms) states 24-48 hours ?? to call back even when you are calling with an issue that warrants same day or next morning callback at latest, and when they do call back 2-3 days later (after you've called again), say go to ER. His nurse does… not relay information to the doctor when you call, (confirmed at my 2nd appt as he was unaware I had called in still in pain and was told to wait 2 weeks until my next appt), and provides inaccurate info when she does call to relay results, adding in her own diagnosis rather than the doctors instructions. When following up on test results from 3 and 6 days prior, she stated she had not received from Eastside, so I confirmed with hospital they had sent plus they sent a 2nd time, so she then stated she asked someone to call me (they had, left msg no results yet), then said Dr. Schorr was very busy with a lot of patients and getting ready for vacation so had not had time to review, and then stated 3rd excuse as their policy is not to give test results before a week anyway. Lastly, another doctor called him to follow up on my behalf, and could not get through to Dr. Schorr for 2+ days -- again office staff points fingers, we didn't have a message, don't know what happened, etc. Plus failed to keep him in loop and provide copy as had promised. Even common colonoscopy cannot be scheduled while there -- rather you have to wait for them to call you later, which calls occur over a week later vs other practices who schedule before you leave. When I asked the practice manager what the patients expectation should be for callbacks and test results, she would not even answer, rather stated she could only transfer me to the nurse (who seems to be the roadblock in his practice). The doctor may be great, however if his communications can't get to you and you to him, then this may not be the practice for you.

I would not recommend this doctor at all. I felt like he was extremely difficult to communicate with. If I didn't ask a question the way he thought it should be asked, he just wouldn't bother answering it. I also felt like he minimized my symptoms...I'd been to the ER twice in one month on the verge of collapse with trouble breathing, heart palpitations after eating and he told me he'd never heard of those symptoms before and dismissed it as anxiety. He said we had "plenty of time" and told me to come back in six weeks. When you've just been to the ER twice in one month, it's pretty urgent. Turns out I have a serious wheat allergy, not IBS. I felt like he just made up his mind about what he wanted to diagnose me with even if it defied common sense. Does IBS cause high blood pressure and trouble breathing? How did he even come up with that diagnosis? The staff never returns calls, even when they're urgent. Also his office has weird policies that I've never seen anywhere else, like you… have to pay for copies of your records and you also have to pay before you see the doctor while you're still in the waiting room. I paid $165 to be treated like crap for 5 minutes and he didn't even solve my problem. Doctors are a dime a dozen, don't bother with this one!

My complaint was severe pain in my right side at waist level, and I indicated that I've been on a diet for some time. This is where the gall bladder is located and I came to learn later that gall stones are a frequent problem of people who lose a lot of weight. He ordered an ultrasound and CT scan, but it took 2 days for his assistant to fax the order to the hospital and he refused to prescribe me pain pills. After I finally had the tests performed, it took a full 6 days to get him to read the results! Keep in mind that I was in extreme pain begging for pain meds. His assistant informed me twice that this doctor doesn't prescribe pain meds. After this 6 day delay (for a total of 2 weeks since I first saw him complaining of extreme pain), he advised me (via his assistant since he wouldn't talk directly to me) that I have a gall stone and they finally agreed to give me pain pills while waiting for surgery. Do not see this doctor if you have pain!
