Dr. Scott David Shie, MD

After seeing him twice I'm never going back. He dismissed my pain concerns and recommended counciling for my awful painful bladder disease. He also accused me of seeking pain meds which I never even asked for. Horrible Dr!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Shie for 3 years. He is an amazing doctor and skilled surgeon. I have had the unfortunate luck to had needed assistance from numerous surgeons over the years, none have compared to Dr. Shie's level of patient care and concern.

I've been with Dr. Shie for 5 years. He has sometimes been late, but then look how far he travels. I will wait for a great doctor like him. He is very thorough and has never rushed me. He did surgery on me several times and I would always recover just as he said. He is young but also has the latest training and that was a great thing for me.

I waited seven weeks for my appointment with this doctor. I had been told by the scheduling person that he would probably refer me elsewhere, even before she knew much about my medical problem. And he did refer me to another doctor, after recommending common solutions that I had already tried. I agree with another reviewer that Dr. Shie "dismissed critical points for patient solution", is a "nice guy just not effective", and was "too eager to close and push" to some other doctor. He did not listen well, just did his spiel, and told me he sees 30 patients a day, I did not feel at all that he wanted to get to the bottom of my health problem.

Missed several key diagnosis with scans available providing the information. Completely missed one kidney stone. Assumed one other had passed. Relies on Ultrasounds too heavily for full medical diagnosis disregarding patient symptoms. Dismissed critical points for patient solutions, care and recovery with disregard to patients medical history. No HIPAA provided at front desk, I could tell you from the back chair in the lobby the co-pay, address, phone number, and how to fill out a follow-up form on how the patient is peeing on every patient registering. I had to clean up the urine in the bathroom from the VERY messing male patient prior. Hmmm.. isn't their a target on the potty they can use, come'on hit the bowl, LOL.... Every patients appt and private consult was heard on both sides of other patients while waiting in the exam room. Ex. The patient to the left was going to Asia but will contact him when he gets back. (I'm leaving out the medical info heard). Lucky guy is going on a… vacation, lol. Doctor is a nice guy just not effective for a patient who needs medical answers. And too eager to close and push back to primary. Cheers to the scheduling receptionist in the back though, she is always helpful, pleasant, efficient, and good at her job. However, my hope is that Dr. Shie slows down a bit and remembers that 15 min is an appt that the patient waited for well over a month in pain after his mis-diagnosis and is also paying for help that is needed to heal from daily kidney pain. Sincerely, a patient still in kidney pain, but he's not sure what the problem is......
