Had Gallbladder surgery and went fine.

Very professional and good human people

In 2013 Dr. Bloom preformed a colon resection on my dad for Stage 2 Colon cancer. We originally had selected another surgeon ( who seemed only to be in it for his financial gains ) so I decided to get a second opinion. My father was an elderly man and it was a risky surgery. I met with Dr. Bloom and he put us at ease right away. The surgery was a huge success ! My dad was discharged on Christmas Eve so he could be home with his family and the script written by the hospital for his pain meds was incomplete. The pharmacy called Dr. Bloom to see if he could fax over a new script and not only did he fax it immediately but he called me on my cell phone ( On Christmas Eve ) to make sure my father was okay and we were able to get the script filled. He is always so gracious and kind. He really takes his patients to heart. I have even read reviews from when he lived in Canada. They LOVED him too ! He would always stop by to visit my dad personally in the hospital and we looked forward to his… visits. A few years later my dad was diagnosed with another type of Cancer and I actually consulted with Dr. Bloom from Florida since I so respected his opinion and once again, he led us towards the right direction. He is sorely missed in NY by patients and staff from SI Hospital. Everyone speaks so highly of him. They all hope one day he returns to NY. Florida has gained one of the most skillful and caring surgeons EVER ! If you ever need a GREAT surgeon , go to Orlando Medical and ask for Dr. Scott Bloom. You will never regret it ! Tell him NY misses him dearly !!!!

Brought my adult son to another "Head of the Department" "Surgeon" at another hospital in Staten Island. He performed surgery for diverticulitis. Told me everything was fine..."Good clean lines". After EIGHT phone calls to him in one week complaining that me son was not looking or feeling well, he blamed my son for not walking enough. Brought him to his gastro doctor who sent him for a CT scan- had to go to an ER RIGHT AWAY., he had a hole in his intestines in the surgical site. Rushed my son to SIUH, who did not want to keep him as they did not do the surgery. I would not let him leave. Dr. Scott Bloom took his case. He performed surgery on my son, and SAVED HIS LIFE. LITERALLY. I was told by a infectious disease doctor that he had at most 2 hours to live, prior to the second surgery. As someone who has worked in the medical field for 24 years, I have had the privilege of working with some doctors who put their patients first. Dr. Bloom puts the lives of this patients… above all else. He is the most compassionate and caring physician that I have ever met. I have just found out that Dr. Bloom is relocating to Florida. New York has lost a wonderful man. If need be, my son will travel to his office if he needs him again. Goodbye and Thank you for my son.

Dr. Bloom did a major surgery for me, along with my amazing Gynocologist Dr Deangelis and they both amazed me. Dr Bloom did his thing so that no major complications happened during surgery. Meeting him, he was so polite and happy and took his time to get to know my medical history, with positivity to my questions and concerns that I had. Amazing , talented doctor who I now admire!

I LIKE HIM HE IS A VERY GOOD DOCTOR HIS STAFF IS GREAT I HAVE TOLD MY FRIEND'S ABOUT HIM HIS P.A. IS VERY GOOD ALSO DR. BLOOM IS VERY EASY TO TALK TO HE IS A VERY CARING PERSON

He guessed my condition alright. It was his trainees who took care of my pain. Not him. I waited for a long time in his office, very inconsiderate of his patients' time. Does not speak clearly, his trainees explained to me what I could not hear. Looks down upon people. Had a fake smile. Negative vibes. I could not help but feel like he was condescending towards me. In the hospital, too. He has some students and trainees with him. I felt sorry for the kids. One can tell a lot about a person by the way he treats his underlings. I would not let him touch me again and would not recommend him to friends and family.
