What a frustrating experience! First his office staff said they would email me my records and test results. I asked Jenny three times and I never got them. I had to go straight to the pathologist who called me back immediately and answered my questions. Dr Lai made me crazy too. He didn't listen to what I was saying. He misinterpreted what I said. He was short tempered and lectured me on "herbs". He never returned my phone call when I had questions. I will never again let a hospital assign a specialist for me. Ugh! Horrible experience.

awesome doctor. staff is very nice and make you feel like home. doctors knows what hes doing, spends quality time with his patients. waiting time may be of 45 minutes (plus) but its worth it. he spend a lot of time with me and answered all my questions,

My mom presented with pencil thin stools, constipation, weight loss, and abdominal problems, and Dr Lai summarily ignored these red flag symptoms for colon cancer. He ordered a NON-contrast CT scan (why get a CT if you are not going to use contrast?), which showed nothing. Then never, even til this day, did he ever followed up with my mom. Her other doctor actually had to look at it after two weeks with no call from Dr Lai.A little more than a year later, she was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic colon cancer via CT with contrast and a colonoscopy by another doctor. Two months later, she was gone. An absolute fighter, who survived other bouts with cancer because she had good doctors that gave her the upper hand of early detection.Do not trust your lives or the lives of your loved ones to this man. If we have our way, you won't need to. He should retire. In fact, I'm sure he will soon. He is an awful doctor, and his negligence contributed to my mother's death.Additionally, the wait for… him is RIDICULOUS and his staff is rude and incompetent. If I could give no stars, I would.

The assistant has a terrible attitude. She got my appointment time and payment wrong. I would never go back again.

can't believe there are such rude office staff in west L.A. never see in other offices.First, you always have to wait at least 2hr to see the doctor. Then staff starts to talk with you the upcoming bill during the waiting time as you have to pay upfront otherwise the threat they will throw to you is "unable to see the doctor" even you have waited hours.The doctor will definitely lose patients in long run by hiring such staff, no basic manner at all.
