Dr. Shai Shoshani, MD

Dr Shoshani is a passionate and enthusiastic physician who strives to treat, while educating, his patients. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of non-surgical sports and other musculoskeletal injuries from the pediatric all the way to the senior population. His practice focuses on helping athletes of all levels, from weekend warriors to the pros, whether in health maintenance or treating acute/chronic injuries. He is double boarded in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.
He tailors individualized treatment plans according to each patient's lifestyle, capabilities and demands. Working with superb local therapists and trainers, he seeks to provide his patients with a one-on-one personalized treatment from the time of diagnosis until “return to play.” His goal is to have all patients return to their sport in the fastest time yet in the safest manner possible. Dr Shoshani, who grew up both in Bergen County (in northern New Jersey) and Israel, has been involved in a wide …variety of sports since his early childhood (baseball, basketball, judo, taekwondo, archery, skiing, snowboarding, tennis, kayaking are to name a few). He participated in the European Little League Championship at the age of 13, followed by playing for the Israeli National Team in baseball, and then college ball while attending school in Los Angeles, California. As a high level athlete, struggling to play day-by-day through injuries and body fatigue, he can relate and treat compassionately other athletes.
Dr Shoshani graduated SumaCumLada majoring in Bioethics from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, California. While in Los Angeles, he got the unique opportunity to familiarize himself with the field of Sports Medicine as he participated in research at the prestigious Kerlan and Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. He then pursued his medical education at the American University of the Caribbean in Saint Maarten, Netherland Antilles. After graduating medical school in 2010, he joined the Family Medicine residency program at Hoboken University Medical Center. During his three years of residency, he provided medical services for the Hoboken High School varsity football team and volunteered at the NYC Marathon. After completing residency in 2013, Dr Shoshani moved to Houston Texas where he completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at the Houston Methodist Hospital under the guidance of Dr Scott Rand. During fellowship he cared for Aldin and Eisenhower High Schools, Rice University (NCAA division I), Houston Dynamo (MLS), Houston Rodeo and many other venues and athletes.Once he graduating from fellowship he returned to northern NJ and joined North Eastern Orthopedics out of Jersey City where he cared for multiple local high schools throughout the
Hudson County. Since, he settled down in Bergen County and recently joined Englewood knee and Sports Medicine where he will continue to provide exquisite care to the local population.
