Dr. Shane Michael Sims, MD

Dr. Sims delivered both my babies. He is an AWESOME doctor. He treats all of his patients like you are his only patient. He explains everything very thoroughly to where it is understandable. He loves to talk, which helps a lot to make you feel more comfortable. As long as he is still employed as an OBGYN, I will continue to see him. Both times in the hospital, he checked on me pretty regular to see how I was doing. What an AWESOME doctor. :)

Doctor Sims is such a wonderful doctor! I was so nervous coming in to the office being that this is my first pregnancy. He made me feel so comfortable. He's super funny and answers all of my questions very accurately and clearly. I would recommend him to anyone. He's just simply the best!

I must say I absolutely love this provider. He is very, very nice and caring, his bedside manners are impeccable. He is kind and takes time to explain things I didn't know or understand. He delivered my twins. There was a complication with my son, however, he did not tell me in surgery of the complication he experienced while delivering the second baby. He ensured me after labor everything was and would be okay I was grateful, because I would have panic and cause more complications as far as blood pressures, and etc. As far as the diagnosis issue, on a yearly exam I was told I had a hernia forming per Dr. Sims after palpating the area of concern. I was in denial/doubt, and was referred by Dr. Sims to a phys who literally walked in and said "so, you are here for a hernia, let's schedule you for surgery." I was like are you going to at least look and palpate to see if it is indeed a hernia?!! He palpated, "yes it a hernia the nurse will schedule you for surgery." I went through with all… the pre-surg work up and my gut was still telling me this can not be a hernia that suddenly appeared. It felt like a hard bump or pimple under my skin. My babies (all 3) were born with umbilical hernias and they were soft and mushy. So, surgery day rolled around and I decided not to go! A week later the "hernia" went away! I grew to learn, after a f/u visit to my dentist that it was a swollen lymph node!!!!!!!!! I had a heavily decayed molar extracted just a very days before the yearly exam. I was relieved and grateful that I followed the spirit and that I did not accept what was told to me. I don't feel this was fully Dr. Sims' fault because he sent me for further evaluation but I stressed the fact that it didn't feel (palpate) like any hernia I have ever felt to Dr. Sims. I receive follow up appts from them, but no one checks on me after procedures, and when you call back for any reason the front staff and his nurse is horrible. They are rude and I always feel rushed or hurried. And, the nurse does her job and always return calls if I leave a message but her tone is as if the patient, myself, is a bother. The lab ladies are always talking aloud of personal experiences and issues while taking vitals and drawing blood. I love Dr. Sims though. Absolutely. He is the only reason I continue to return.

Dr. Shane Sims is wonderful I was so scared during the birth of my first child but he came in and had such a wonderful bed side manner and really helped to calm my fears and even though there were some complications with my son not breathing he never let own he stayed calm and reassured me everything was fine. He is one of the most caring people I know and would definitely use him again.
