Dr. Shannon Cooke Baker, MD

Having Dr. Baker as my primary care physician has been an outstanding experience. She shows a genuine concern for my well being and takes a very proactive approach. She never makes me feel rushed and spends as much time answering questions as I need. I would recommend her to anyone I know.

I went to Dr Baker years ago complaining of fatigue and chronic pain. She dismissed it as just needing to exercise more. I found out later I had a FAI impingement in my hip and had hip surgery, this was not from a referral from her, but me seeking out other professionals. My last visit, I told her I was diagnoised with an Hashimoto's. She dismissed the treatment of the other doctor and said that I should think about weight loss surgery. I was so taken aback! This had never been suggested to me before. I then asked her if I qualified for weight loss surgery. After looking at my numbers, she said "no, well unless you had diabetes". I am not even pre diabetic. She was completely out of line, insensitive and did not even address what I came to see her for. The absolute worst Doctor I have ever seen. Not only has she missed two diagnosis with me personally, both times she has blamed it on my weight. I realize that being at a healthy weight makes a lot of things better, but you cannot… blame every condition on weight.

VERY NICE AND SINCERE DOCTOR,

Dr. Baker is the best PCP my husband and I have ever had. She listens to us, and, NEVER, tries to over talk us. She takes as much time as needed with us, and will check up on either of us, if necessary. Her bedside manner is so human...NOT clinical, at all! I LOVE going to see her! She answers every question we have, and, she will let us try medication samples, first, to see if there are allergies to them, before we get a prescription filled. Dr. Baker is one in a million, and we LOVE HER!!!!

Dr. Baker is very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. She listens and does not seem in a rush, as many other doctors do today. I am very happy that I have found her after years of searching for a primary care physician.

Dr. Baker is a wonderful physician - she has an excellent bedside manner and knows how to speak to children on their level and then turn around and speak to the parents. I would move her with me if I could - she is amazing.

I am so grateful to have Dr. Baker as my PCP. She is caring, patient, jovial, smart, never rushes me, etc.She knows and treats me as the invidual I am.I trust her wholeheartedly with my medical care and often brag about her to others.Now-the negative--she does not work everyday. For her family, she works, I believe 2 or 3 days only. The other doctors I have seen in her absence have been very good to me, but they're not Dr. Baker. I'm hoping that in a few years, as her children grow, she will end up working all week.
