Dr. Shariq Refai

Well spoken and knowledgeable. I have not done virtual before but thats all he offered. He made me feel comfortable with it. I already feel better which is why I had to come online to leave a review. He suggested a treatment that worked. Amazing.

I appreciate that Dr. Refai has worked with me to find the right medication (even though it can be a process!). He has been patient with my neurotic tendencies and he helped me recover to a more stable life, nbd. At times has has seemed a little aloof, but I guess that comes with being a human that is not mother teresa.

My initial visit with Dr. Refai was overwhelmingly positive. The feeling was as if I had known him forever and I was made to feel completely at ease. He inserted required questions into our general conversation which made for a seamless discussion. His vast knowledge and ability to diagnose was incredible and I was shocked to immediately be given the answers to many questions I did not even know I had.... Highly recommended.

I brought my daughter to see him. He was rude, condescending, cold, and he gave very little time for a first evaluation appointment. I left his office crying. He barely made eye contact with her, no compassion, it was a total waste of time, money and energy. He was a referral for output treatment post hospital admission. It left me scrambling to find another doctor. I would definitely steer clear of him. Note that his degree is from the Caribbean.

If you would have asked me a year ago, I would have given Dr. Refai 4 or 5 stars. Based on my experience, he doesn't like to believe that the medications he prescribes cause harm to his patients. I had what I thought was a side effect from a medication that he prescribed. He said that he didn't think it was from the medication. So, trusting him completely (my fault), I ended up spending over a grand on an MRI scan because of this symptom and spent months before that terrified that I had MS. After quitting the offending medication, the side effect slowly went away. The past few appointments with him our doctor-patient relationship deteriorated. He was very condescending and paternalistic. Disappointed because I trusted him and thought he was a good doc.

Dr. Refai is brilliant. He is efficient and effective with a diagnosis. Quickly he makes a connection with you. At my first visit I knew I was with someone that understood me. It’s hard to find a good psychiatrist. He was a referral from another physician. I can not say enough kind words about him.

This doctor made me feel worse than when I walked into his office. I waited over 4 months for this appointment, and it was something that I was looking forward to so that I could finally get the help I needed. I have really bad anxiety and depression. He made me wait over an hour for my appointment and was extremely rude to me even before we could start the appointment. He made comments about my weight and other things and I was out of his office, crying within 30 seconds. If you are having mental health issues stay away from this guiy!!!

Dr Refai is the worst physician that I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. Immediately upon entering his office, to be treated for anxiety and depression, he weighed me and then took my blood pressure. Subsequently, my blood pressure was sky-high. His manner is very abrupt and condescending.
