Dr. Sharon Jane Lee, MD

The worst visit ever. I went to her for menopause symptoms ie night sweats, hot flashes, no menstrual cycle for over one year. She told me I was “sleeping with too many blankets. “ I am a nurse practitioner and fairly educated and work in the ER. Don’t you think I have enough sense to know how to sleep, cover or uncover myself and know when something in my body isn’t correct. She refused all blood work I requested to check hormones and thyroid.

I've been a patient of Dr. Lee for 12 years. She was there through my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter. She has always answered all my questions and makes me feel valued as a patient. Highly recommend her!

I was pregnant with my first baby and didn't know any better- Dr. Lee is very punctual, but it's at the expense of providing quality patient care. I normally have a blood pressure of 90s/50s and by the end of my pregnancy I had blood pressures of high 190s/ 90-100. I also more than doubled my body weight with fluid retention. My ankles were so big I couldn't wear socks. I had pitting edema that would remain indented on my shins overnight. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and Dr. Lee was dismissive and made me feel like I was an idiot for being concerned. I had migraines and was miserable, and any time I asked about preeclampsia, she immediately dismissed my concerns, saying my swelling was due to being pregnant in the summer. I had a very complicated, 36 hour delivery, and when I initially came in Dr Lee was not the doc in the hospital. She came in the next day, was unsupportive, callous, and again dismissive. I was on the brink of needing a c-section and Dr. Lee told me… that she had a basketball game to go to. She then passed me off to two inexperienced residents. I continued to labor, now afraid of needing a c-section from these two, and eventually needed an episiotomy, which neither if them had ever done, and ultimately they botched. After all of that, at my 6 week check up Dr. Lee was still callous. I told her about my problems with the episiotomy healing and she didn't even bother to look. I had to have that corrected elsewhere and in my second pregnancy (with a new doc!) I had complications that came up thanks to my sustained high blood pressure during the first pregnancy. I truly feel lucky to have survived my pregnancy and delivery with Dr. Lee. Convenience of timely office visits isn't worth your (or your baby's) life.

Dr Lee is great. The reception staff at La Women’s are rude and unhelpful. I was appalled at my recent treatment upon arrival at my appointment. Unacceptable and no interpersonal skills whatsoever. Never go there again

I have been a patient of Doctor Lee for nearly 21 years. Now I'm bringing my 16 year old daughter to her. I wouldn't go any where else.

During my pregnancy, I thought Dr. Lee was attentive enough. A partner did my c-section. When Dr. Lee made rounds afterwards, I told her I felt something was not right; I had extreme pain, etc... She responded dismissively- "welcome to motherhood." Within a few days after discharge my fever was 104, I could not see out of one eye and was quite ill. I called the on call number and the nurse who responded told me to take some Tylenol and a tepid bath and that probably just I had mastitis. After taking some Tylenol, and a tepid bath, my fever was still hovering at 104+. I called back the on call number and told the nurse I was going to the ER and asked which ER I should go to - I wound up at Woman's. Dr. Lee was there and immediately diagnosed me with some sort of uterine infection and pumped me up with antibiotics and admitted me. My symptoms worsened at an alarmingly rapid rate upon admission. I developed very loose bowels and my abdomen distended incredibly, and I began to lose… weight and hair. After an agonizing week, during much of that week I was unconscious, one of Dr. Lees partners finally took some action and ran tests and made a lifesaving diagnosis! Never during this time was my primary car physician notified. After that ordeal, I still gave Dr. Lee the benefit of the doubt. I made a special follow up appointment with Dr. Lee personally to discuss what exactly had happened and what impact this could have on my future health and chances of having another successful pregnancy. At the appointment, after waiting an unusually long time, she popped her head in and said she did not have time to talk with me. I attempted several more times to have that face to face appointment, all to no avail. Needless to say, I have since changed doctors, years have passed and my questions remain unanswered.
