Dr. Shawyin S Yee-Armah, MD

I really could not have disliked this practice more. The office is located in a former school. I'm wondering whether the school was closed due to a mold issue because the doctor's office smell like dirty, dank basement covered up with the cans of Febreeze in the exam rooms. No medical office should be spraying fragrances in their offices. The common areas of the building smell like a factory. I came home with the stench of this building on my clothes, purse and hair and had to shower and wash my clothes to get the stink out. The restroom did not have any paper towels. Dr. Yee has the staff do 99% of the visit (I was there 2 1/4 hours) and then pops in for a 2 minute exam. I told her I was having eye issues and had a list of questions and she tried to rush out of the room without discussing anything with me. Everything I wrote on my intake form was ignored. Dr. Yee seems to only be interested in finding people who she can bill for cataract surgery. No other eye care suggestions… for my dry eyes and other issues were made. All of that time and I left without a script for new glasses - you have to THEN schedule with their optometrist (booked a nearly 2 months out) and spend more time in that stinky place. No thank you. Now I have to find an actual place for a vision exam and am being told my eye coverage plan will not cover the vision exam because I won't be getting a full eye exam.

Had a lazy eye with eye muscle surgery. She totally messed it up and when I went back in for a follow up and told her I felt a snap in my eye, After that I received a notification she was not accepting my insurance anymore. Experienced severe headaches, eyes etc... since. Finally went to Hershey and a Surgeon there is correcting her screw up but has taken 2 surgeries so far. She should NOT even be practicing.

If you vale your eyes, stay away fro this doctor

Just had my mother she 85 at a retina specialist and found out the lens that Dr Yee put in her eye are not the best for her problems. So I have to agree with the other post on here.

Dr Yee will always push surgery get a 2nd option. if she not cutting she not making money. I wish I would of listen to my guy. I spent 5k and now all I have is problem. Im being treated by the best now, John Hopkin. I was told they the would never put the 5k lens in my eyes. I have had nothing but problem since .

Dr. Yee is one of the rudest people I’ve ever met... don’t waste your time or money with her.

Stay far away from this place! I made an appointment because I was having double vision. I was told my problem was cataracts. They didn't want me to leave without agreeing to the surgery, not to read the literature, talk to my husband, nothing! I left and was hospitalized for high blood pressure which was causing double vision! A reputable eye doctor said my cataracts are no where near surgery ready. DO NOT SAY I WASN'T A PATIENT!!!!

I made an appointment because I was experiencing blurred vision. After my exam, I was told I needed cataract surgery and had to sign up right there and then, I couldn't leave to read the literature, discuss it with my husband, nothing. I have never been so pressured. I went to a reputable Dr. and was told that I have the beginning of cataracts, no where near surgery ready. My problem was high blood pressure that I was hospitalized for! This place should be shut down, period.

I have never waited less than 2 hours for an appt with Dr. Yee. Her staff never addressed the wait nor apologized. When you wait you are sitting with many disgruntled patients. She also overbooks. Dr. Yee herself was only apologetic once she realized my anger at the situation. Horrible bedside manner. There are plenty of well-trained ophthalmologists in York. I suggest you seek out one of them!! Save yourself some time!

Dr.Yee, very courteous, professional, and friendly. Expalins the problem in layman language. Very accurate diagnosis. Staff is very courteous and easy to work with u.
