Dr. Sheila Eileen Crowe, MD

I was diagnosed with PTSD because of her in 2011. She preformed an edg while I was fully awake and verbally assaulted me and I begged her to stop hurting me with the tube. Her nurse Beck Treakle watched on and did nothing to protect me or help me. I wouldn’t allow her to take care of my dead dog much less anyone else. She is a self centered brat that doesn’t like you unless you are rich, white, skinny and straight. She is lucky I never sued. Might not be able to sue for mal practice now, but I can still sue for pain and suffering. I won’t stoop to her sadistic level though. I’m glad she is out of VA and the general public is safe from her. I hope she loses her license one day. I know I’m not her first victim.

While my first appointment (last of the day) was delayed by 45 minutes, they did attempt to placate me with a gift card to a coffee chain. I'd recommend booking appointments early or, call an hour before you arrive - the staff will update you on delays (which one might expect with a doctor who spends time with clients!) My second appointment, she helped me understand the details of my particular case - silent celiac. We co-developed a strategy for the next year that I could follow and a metric by which we would evaluate my performance. This was a way for me to learn about my new diet and NOT (yet, anyway) endure the stress of constantly worrying about cross-contamination (perhaps a luxury in my seemingly non-symptomatic celiac). I will have my children work with Dr. Crowe. As an added tip - she is co-author on Celiac for Dummies, I found the book super helpful in answering many of my questions before I met with her. This let us get to details quickly.

Very disappointed. Wanted to push everything off on other Specialists. Didn't want to perform a test that was specifically recommend by another Dr. Didn't even look at the form they had me complete upon arrival. Didn't address any of my concerns. Focused? on one thing & wouldn't listen to anything else. Horrible!!
