Dr. Shobhana Gandhi, MD

I arrived for my first prenatal visit (I think I am about 8 weeks along) and waited approximately two hours before being called to the front desk and asked how I would like to pay my labor and delivery bill. I informed the staff that I preferred to first see the physician and confirm the health of the embryo and pregnancy before discussing labor delivery charges. The physician refused to see me unless I agreed to prepay my labor and delivery copay. I requested a written financial policy explaining the payment requirement, the office refused and claimed I was being "disruptive" by requesting someone explain why I was being charged for labor and delivery without even confirming the pregnancy with the doctor first. My insurance plan has confirmed that prenatal visits are fully covered and that it is not standard for a doctor to charge for sevices that are not being rendered. Medically necessary prenatal care was denied due to refusal to prepay estimated future services. Fraudulent… charging, medical negligence and overall a patient abusive office.

I saw Dr Zograbyan today at the Presbyterian Hospital. She was very sweet and courteous and the initial exam and later procedure were both easy and quick and without pain or awkwardness. I could tell she was very experienced. Her staff was helpful and even dealt with a vending machine mishap for me without any fuss. The office was comfortable with plenty of waiting space and I was seen rather quickly after doing my paperwork for the first exam, but it took a while when I went in for the procedure. Still the Dr was fast and lovely. I would be happy to have all my Gyn needs met here if I could. Thank you!

This "doctor" didn't want to receive, read or talk about my mammogram, yelling that "we have different views about what a gynecologist is!", I reported her to my insurance and I just received a letter from them filled with her lies, trying to cover her absolutely inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. This woman cannot be an OBGYN, as she does not want to deal with women's breasts, mammograms or their results. I also reported her to the Medical Board. Shameful

There is a reason there's so many 1 star reviews here. Please listen to them. The staff was ok. I'm surprised everyone complains about them. It was just Dr. Gandi herself. She made me wait 45 minutes because she did a C Section. I guess the problem is she tries to take on WAAAAAY too many patients so what she does is she's really rude to all of the patients to hurry up and get them out the door. My god, I would hate to be that poor woman getting the C Section from her while she's rushing through it and does not care what she cuts, what she pulls out, or what she sews up. Getting to me. I had reoccurring trichomoniasis. My last boyfriend gave it to me, then dumped me. I begged the Saban Clinic and Dr Roy Silver to test me for trich but they wouldn't. I finally got planned parenthood to test me and they said I had it and gave me 4 pills of metronidazole. It did nothing. It came right back the day because I guess the previous doctors refused to test me for it and they just… let it carry on for so long. I was in so much pain from it. I got planned parenthood again to give me metronidazole, this time more. Oh my God it was just a never ending nightmare. Finally I took an extreme amount of Tinidizole and it cleared up. When I saw Dr Gandi I said, "hey could you please test me for trichomoniasis. My last boyfriend gave it to me. I've taken so much antibiotics. I just want to make sure it's gone.". She said "I don't really have the tests for trichomoniasis anymore. In order for me to test you for trichomoniasis I'd have to do a culture"? Or something or another. I was like, "ok, well do a culture". Whatever, I just want to make sure I don't have it. She was very rushed, very short because already she was 45 minutes late. She took some swabs I guess. She said she was gonna test for something or another else. And I said, "and can you test for trichomoniasis". She got upset and said, "I told you I don't do that test" (I guess asking for a trichomoniasis test really damages a doctor's ego). She paused for a moment. Then she said, "the only reason your trichomoniasis keeps coming back is because you keep having sex. Metronidazole is a really strong antibiotic. There's no way it can come back.". I said, "but I didn't have sex afterwards.". Does this woman not know how much pain I was in? Honestly sex was the last thing on my mind? I mean I know she doesn't care but it was extremely painful. I did NOT WANT to have sex let alone have it. She said, "well, metronidazole is strong. The only way trichomoniasis comes back is if you have sex." I asked her, "well the first 2 doctors refused to test me for it and they just let it continue on and on for so long. By the time a doctor gave me 4 pills of Metronidazole, that isn't gonna do anything because the previous doctors let me have it for so long? 4 pills might not do anything?" Do you know what her response was? She said, "Trichomoniasis can't travel up into your cervix and other parts". Lady? What are you talking about? That's not what I asked? Are you sure you gotta PHD? I'm not a doctor and I know that is a nonsense response? Again she's so rushed she's not really listening to the patient. I'm really scared now. I know I'm on Medi-Cal so I'm not a customer any doctor wants but why do the doctors have to treat me so bad? Why is she so insulted if the patient needs a trichomoniasis test? Can't she just respond professionally and say, "I think you have to go to planned parenthood for that.". Instead of blaming the patient with false accusations. I'm scared to go back to her now because if she asks me a question and I respond with the truth but she doesn't like the truth she'll imply I'm lying. They turned me away today because they want me to have a COVID test even though I don't have any symptoms and they took my temperature and it's fine. I just traveled to NY. But it's for the best. A doctor that does not care if a patient is in pain and just accused them of lying when they're telling you the truth. I mean I just don't see how that can be a good doctor? I dunno maybe she has some kind of weird prejudice that she is projecting onto me and it prevents her from being professional? Maybe the problem is just she takes on more patients than she can possibly handle so she mistreats them all. But all the bad reviews don't lie.

I had the unfortunate experience of having Dr Gandhi as the OBGYN on call during an emergency situation I had recently. I have fibroids that caused me to bleed out and I needed a blood transfusion and apparently a D&C (I asked for a hysterectomy but she adamantly refused) to remove the fibroids so I didn't continue to bleed. She scheduled me for the surgery and then was unable to complete it because I am too fat. They told me this as I came out of anesthesia, which was truly a traumatizing experience, I've had horrible anxiety since this event. I have actually had a D&C before at Cedars Sinai(at this same weight) with a competent and compassionate doctor who wasn't an outright fatphobe. AND THEN when I was being discharged from the hospital she told me to NOT return to this particular hospital(Hollywood Presbyterian) because they were unable to help me because of my weight and sent me home with a bottle of iron pills and extreme anxiety from the terrible treatment she administered.

Dr. Ghandi was not even my gynecologist and terminated me as a patient after I was forced to tell her employees staff that they were the best to keep being serviced by my original gynecologist in this office and was still terminated after my depot shot and removal of nexplanon by Dr. Ghandi, I received a letter of termination because I defended my right and have the knowledge of the medical field and spoke my concerns and corrected her staff as I was scheduled over 5 times and couldn't been seen because they wouldn't request authorizations since I had HMO so wasted time and all and paying parking for nothing giving urine and waited hours to be told I can't be seen because there was no authorization because they never requested it but they won't tell u that. I had nexplanon inserted by their clinic after birth I started having problems ending in the ER and it was because the nexplanon the person who answered I explained my situation ER and all she's still trying to schedule me 1+ month… away and when I asked about the authorization for removal she said I had to ask my primary Dr. for that and to call back to schedule, I correct her that it had to be their clinic who needed to request it my PCP requested referral approved and forf further more theirt clinic had that conversation responsibility how is my PCP supposed to with no information of my gynecologist medical records to request it she got nervous I asked to transferred me with person in charge of authorizations once I had that resolved their telling me it had to be approved at least 7 days I stated to the person scheduling that they had to request STAT she said it's not an emergency "awww hello I just told u I was in the hospital ER because of it" how is it not an emergency, so finally after hours on the phone I got that STAT and taken off How is it not emergency while I was in the nexplanon I was diagnose with a blood clot on my ovary an had a miscarriage and suggested i kept it on and so much low abdominal pain and at that diagnostic Authorization request they messed up on months of miscarriage. So I don't recommend her or this clinic because at the end it's our health and reproductive system or our babies we are trusting them with and the negligence can cause us allot of damage that could not be fixed at the end.

If is your first pregnancy or your last I don't recommend Dr. Ghandi at all she is rude and unprofessional. I don't like her comments she worries more about you physical appearance than what you really need. I Miscarried at 4 weeks she was so unattentive and instead of her worrying more about my health and my feelings she just wanted me to return for birth control. I will never step a foot on her office again I regret it and I regret giving her my money.

Your staff was very rude and unprofessional. I can't believe your practice is rated at 4 stars. It should be zero stars!
