Dr. Shripal K Makim, MD

Dr. Makim has been so good tomy son. My son has had several acute psychoatric issues and Dr. Makim has been promptly involved giving instructions on what to do. Recently, my son was sleeping all day and found to be almost toxic on one of his medications.Dr. Makim was notified and quickly took action, changing doses and administration times with a quick follow up. He is timely and considerate. He knows my son, and after several years seeing him, has treated his autism / bipolar disorder very well over numerous hospitalizations and medicine changes. Always responsive. Front office staff caring also. 5 stars

I’ve been with Dr. Makim for 10+ years and I can’t say enough good things about his skill, experience and manner.

I saw doctor Makim in 1999 and in 2014. He listened, gave good advice and saved my life twice. Great doctor.

I went to him for a while. He was a very poor listener. All he did was sit in his chair and write prescriptions. If those prescriptions didn't work for me, he didn't believe me. I told him that I can't afford to see him as often as he thought I should, but had no sympathy for my financial situation. He said I had to come in anyway. So I would just cancel the appointments. I couldn't afford to go, there was no sliding scale, and he wouldn't refill a prescription over the phone to save me money. He always wanted to add medications to what I was already taking, but I've tried almost everything and I wasn't interested in trying a brand new expensive SSRI or SNRI when none of them worked in that past. He had no interest in looking into alternative therapies such as ECT, TMS, or ketamine even though I was clearly treatment resistant. Whenever I expressed frustration at his obvious lack of interest in my problems, he said he didn't like having patients who didn't respect him properly. I had… heard that he was a really good doctor but sadly that was not my experience.

Dr. Makim is very concerned that he help me with anxiety and ADD. I have been seeing him for more than 10 years. He has tried many different drugs over the years, adjusting for life events such as spinal fusion surgery, extreme stress and grief. I would not go to anyone else.

I have been seeing Dr. Makim for many years for treatment and management of depression. He is an excellent physician, and has helped me tremendously, not just with diagnosis and medication, but with insight and discussion and compassion. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Makim is the absolute best. Accurate diagnosis, great bedside manner, extremely detailed, very direct and specific, patient, very caring for patient and patient's family.

Dr. Shripal K. Makim is a fine doctor. His expertise is bar none; as well as his "bedside manner". I trust and respect him explicitly. I have worked with him for about 12 years now and counting. I cannot endorse or recommend Dr. Makim any more than I already do.
