Dr. Shu-Guang Xu, MD

Dr. Xu spent about 5 - 10 minutes with me at my first appointment after I had a seizure. Contrast this with the one hour my next neurologist spent with me. At our last appointment, Dr. Xu accused me of not trusting him because of the questions I was asking about my health. What kind of doctor says that? Additionally, he explains nothing - he checks reflexes, prescribes medicine, and that's about it.

He is my mother's Neurologist for MS, we were sent to him after her longtime Neurologist retired. He is a completely wonderful Neuro. We were very happy with him in every way. He has left LVHN and now we're trying to find his new location is.

I see him and my children see him. He is always knowledgeable, pleasant and my kids love him. He makes them feel very comfortable. Takes time to answer questions and explains answers you can understand. Took time to show my imaging and explained it to me. Staff is very nice. Always very helpful. I would recommend seeing this doctor.

Dont waste your time if u have ms. He sees adults for this and is no help. I think not enough knowledge.

I just took my 2 year old son to see him to be diagnosed for autism. I also had a appt with my 3 yr old that had already has the diagnoses of autism. All he did for my 3 year old was check his reflexes, tell me he is just a picky eater ( which he has a sensory disorder that makes it hard for him to eat) and that was it. For my 2 year old he was not listening to anything I was saying, my son is high function and 2 and was getting into stuff like kids do and out of no where the doctor gets up said that's enought, he can't do this and told me to come with him. So basically kicking me and my kids out. I get my kids in the waiting room and the nurse goes , does morning or afternoon work? I go I am so confused what's going on. She goes for your follow up. My follow up for what. This doctor did nothing. He is a peda doctor and can't deal with a toddler. I told them there will be no more appts. This man should not deal with kids. He is not a good doctor. There are many more doctors you can… see.

Worst neuro for trigeminal neuralgia. Do not see him if you suffer tn. All he knows is headaches. He refuses to prescribe any narcotic for pain.everytime I went to see him all he would do is put the light in my eyes check my knee reflex tell me to touch my nose and barely listen to my breathing. Then he would dismiss me and give me the next time he would like to see me to get paid to do nothing. Nurse can be nice but occasionally be very rude. I would not suggest this dr for anything serious
