My mother died of pancreatic cancer last week. She failed chemotherapy. For more than a year our doctors in Ocala could not figure out what was wrong and my cancer specialist referred my Mother to Dr V. Within 10 minutes he came and told me and my Dad that she had pancreatic cancer. This week I took my Dad to him as he was getting jaundice. Dr V did Endoscopic Ultrasound and diagnosed him with bile duct cancer stage 4. Exact 10 minutes. Next week I am scheduled to take my husband as he has been having stomach pains and there is something in his pancreas on the scans. I am hardly sleeping because of anxiety. Dr V is very good, world famous and very competent but if you go to see him be prepared for bad news.

Difficult to understand. Arrogant bedside manner. Talks over you. Rolls his eyes when talking to you. Does not follow up with you in clinic. What’s the point if you provide no follow up care? Staff is very rude.

My wife had been sick the past three months and AdventHealth was the only hospital available to see her urgently even during this corona pandemic. My wife had a biopsy of a mass in bile tract that Dr V diagnosed as cancer and a stent was placed . Dr. V admitted her immediately afterwards and had a surgeon operate and remove the tumor. She will get chemotherapy after discharge. The problem was fixed in 10 days or I would have lost my wife to cancer. I think the endoscopy center at AdventHealth is excellent and Dr. V is a excellent doctor. We are blessed to have him and AdventHealth in Greater Orlando area, particularly in these difficult times. Run away from this physician. there are many more and better gastros in Orlando. I heard from other patients that his complication rates are though the roof.

My Husband Anthony Distefano, just had his second visit with Dr. V I truly believe he has saved my husband's life. Dr.V has wonderful bedside manners even giving us the horrible news about my husband's pancreas. We want to say.. "Thank You so much Dr. V" I hope anyone that has plans to see him, has the same experience as we did.

My 32 year old son got transferred from Panama City as inpatient to Florida Hospital ICU on a ventilator because of horrible pancreatic necrosis. He was given up for dead. Dr. V offered life saving Endoscopy treatments and he walked out alive in 4 weeks. God bless him and the Florida Hospital Team. Looks young but exceptionally intelligent and good.

I took my 85 year old Mother who was told she has a cyst on the pancreas found on CT scan. The cyst had been growing in size for three years and she was told to just watch it. My doctor in Panama City referred me to Dr V in Orlando. He did a endoscopic ultrasonogram with biopsy and diagnosed pancreatic cancer that was missed by everyone for three years. Very nice work place, friendly staff and very competent expert.

I had jaundice all of a sudden and two of my doctors in Pensacola who did tests called ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound could not find a reason. I was referred to Orlando and Dr. Varadarajulu repeated my endoscopic ultrasound and told me I had a 6mm cancer in my pancreas. It was too small for other doctors to see or be seen on a scan. He sent me to a surgeon and after having Whipple surgery I am disease free. I dodged a bullet and got a second chance at life. Very talented doctor. Speaks little but more than delivers.

I was not scheduled to see Dr. V but another one in his practice. After 3 hours of waiting with a IV line I was told Dr V will do my procedure as the other doctor I was to see was still in surgery. The procedure was over in 10 minutes and he asked his nurses to print me a report to take along with me. I felt I waited too long for a quick procedure. I told Dr.V we run a small business and by spending a whole day waiting we lost at least $500 in sales. After 10 days I got a mail with a short handwritten apology from Dr V and a personal check for $500. I saw some of the reviews below and my family and I felt we had to share our experience. He is not only good at what he does but what a gracious and decent doctor. I wish people will think more before writing reviews.

Have never heard of this condition. My gastroenterologist in Stuart and a surgeon could not figure out why I was turning yellow and losing weight. They told me I had pancreatic cancer. Got referred to Florida Hospital. Dr. Varadarajulu spoke to me for 5 minutes, did a surgery called Endoscopy Ultrasound in 10 minutes and told me right away I had autoimmune pancreatitis on biopsy and not cancer. He put me on steroids and in 2 weeks I got my life back. He is a MD of few words but actions are much more. Very competent doctor.
