Dr. Silvana Gaudino, MD

In my third trimester I had severe swelling, particularly in my lower legs, ankles and feet. It came on suddenly and did not relent after elevating my feet, ice baths, or rest. I also had tingling in my hands that wouldn’t go away. My baby was very small, only 3lbs when I was in the 33rd week of pregnancy. Those are all bad signs—signs of preeclampsia. Dr. Gaudino could have prescribed a blood test that was available in June 2023 to test for preeclampsia. She did not. She said that my symptoms were nothing to worry about. My last prenatal appointment with her was on July 5th, 2023. On July 12th I had high blood pressure (170 over 90, I think) and protein in my urine—undeniable signs of preeclampsia. The office where I had my ultrasounds caught this and told me to check in to the hospital. I delivered the next day. I was told Dr. Gaudino would come see me. She did not. I returned to her office (with great reluctance) for my postpartum check ups. She does not have a great bedside… manner during pelvic exams and started my internal exam without a verbal warning or consent. I could have died of a stroke due to preeclampsia. I could have lost my baby from it as well. Please do not see this doctor.

I have a deep respect for Dr. Gaudino. I have known her a very long time and I have never doubted her skills. She is caring and interested in the welfare of her patients. I would dread the day she retires. I hope that she continues to be the doctor she is for a very long time.

I have no copay for a checkup but she sent me a bill stating 10 minute outpatient phone call which she never called me and the office said I have to pay it she also charged my daughter a $50 copay for her well ck which she doesn’t have a copay but because the staff told her to leave a urine and they checked it it was a problem she also charged ins for a iud check because she saw the string while she did a pap. Does she care about the patients or money??

Dr. Gaudino has helped me through an ectopic pregnancy, a second pregnancy with preeclampsia (baby and I are fine!) and now a third pregnancy that has progressed smoothly. She is knowledgeable and has a very approachable, friendly personality. Now that she has moved her practice to Montclair Womens Obstetrics and Gynecology, no one has to worry about rude and unfriendly staff!

I quit going to her because her staff is so rude and it's difficult to get an appointment. She cancelled my last appt the night before, apparently because she decided to work a half day and start her weekend early. She cancelled, but they couldn't reschedule for 3 weeks! The staff are plain rude and unprofessional, even hostile & threatening. They asked me personal questions in front of other patients and men! The planned parenthood is right next door, so I've been going there instead. Their Dr is great, but you do have to wait about an hour.

dr. g is so warm and comforting to be around she makes my gyne visit a breeze we talk woman to woman i just love her
