Dr. Silvana Yovanof, MD

Dr Yovanof takes the time to listen to you. She is the most compassionate caring doctor I have ever met. I was having symptoms of shortness of breath on levothyroxine. She prescribed Armour and it works great! I am so thankful to find a doctor who listens and cares about her patients.

she is educated about all facets of illness connected to her specialty ...even the sexual child abuse connections to ills such as polystilcystic ovary syndrom....still yet some doctors are not up on that issue...she knew decades ago: on the spot excellence...and when i think something will be hard to explain or for a doctor to understand, as a patient...she brings the issue up even before i can get it out of my worried mouth, to articulate the issue or symptoms .....she is that 'johnny on the spot' .....and she listens plus remembers....with all those patients and months between visits how she does that is a mystery to me...Also she can tell if my thyroid etc has swollen by the slightest bit , or gone down even slightly after months apart.....THAT is excellence. i can't repeat that word enough.....she knows her stuff alright and is keenly interested in the latest developments concerning the illnesses associated with her field.....she keeps up with all the new scientific studies,… research, results, even theories....all of it, because she truly desires to help the patient and be on top of things....her compassion and concern for abused women in deeply moving and acute....it is also desperately needed by doctors and has many health ramifications .....She is ...wel,l here we go again: excellent! .

By far the most unprofessional and disrespectful doctor I have ever had to deal with.

When I have an "appointment" it is actually what my wife and I have started calling a "cattle call". Everyone is scheduled for the same time, and they take who shows up first (except some who are seen right away (the elite perhaps ?). Which means you may (and I have) sit there for hours waiting and personally, I dont have the time to wait to be graced with her presence. Also, when I asked about an insulin pump she seemed like a deer in the headlights. Now that I got one she is lost and will need to be replaced if I am to be successful with my care,

I love her. She has successfully managed my illness and may have saved my life. Do you wait for her past your appointment time? Most times yes. Sometimes no. She takes her time, she listens and she is thorough. She is worth the wait, believe me. People come far to see her because of her expertise. No one is herded through 10 - 15 minute appointments. Everyone is deserving of the thorough assessment and treatment she provides. Plan accordingly is my best advice. I for one am worth the time it takes to see her and she is worth the wait if I do have to wait.

I can honestly say that Dr. Yovanof is easily one of the most proactive and intelligent doctors that I have ever seen. She takes her job seriously and she is good at it. She is hard working and doesn't cut corners. Unfortunately it is really hard to find a doctor these days that will actually pay attention to your case and go through the work to really find out what is going on with you. That being said, if you are interested in being seen by Dr. Yovanof, weigh your priorities. She's great if you have something that needs to be figured out and handled with the best care, but you will have to put up with everything that comes with it. If you book an appointment, don't expect to be seen for a few hours. They are always running hours behind and the front office is about 40 years behind in technology. They have no on-call doctor, they never ever answer or return calls, and the billing is always screwed up, so always double check that...

My other doctors refuse to even take calls from her. She is a difficult human being in general but as a doctor her bed side manner in a word is obnoxious. The most unprofessional doctor I have ever dealt with. Her staff is terrified of her. Seven plus years of insults and just a very unlikeable attitude. A complete nightmare! Now my lawyer has the pleasure of dealing with this wretched woman.

When I entered the office, I noticed that there were several patients asleep in the waiting room. I checked in with the receptionist and sat down. I waited 1 hr 20 min to see the doctor... Ridiculous! No wonder they all were asleep. At one point there were not enough seats in the waiting room. Not excited to go back next month. If this happens again, I will be looking for another endocrinologist.

Both my parents are her patients and she has been nothing but outstanding with their care. She ensures that her patients are treated appropriately while in the hospital and does not hesitate to correct any situation that is upsetting the family. Her bedside manner is excellent.

She probably saved my life. She put me in the hospital and found out that my old doctor had me on too much blood pressure and thyroid medication. Shes wonderful !!1!!!
