Dr. Simone M Scumpia has the following 2 specialties
- Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
An endocrinologist is a physician with extensive training in understanding, diagnosing and treating conditions related to the endocrine system. The endocrine system regulates the balance of hormones.
Conditions of the endocrine system involve an over-abundance, or deficiency of a certain hormone. While there is a range when it comes to the amount of a hormone that is deemed normal in a human, these specialists determine whether a person's amount of hormone is indicative of a health concern. Two conditions this specialist might treat are diabetes and obesity.
- Internal Medicine
An internist is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the adult population—both acute and chronic.<br>These doctors are often who adults see as their primary physicians because they treat a broad range of illnesses that do not require surgical or specialist interventions. They also work to help a patient maintain optimal health in order to prevent the onset of disease.
In addition to treating the common cold and flu, internists also treat chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

If I could give a rating of ZERO, I would. Firstly I arrived for my first appointment, wasn't greeted and I had to call the woman on the other side of the glass to get her attention. She hands me a clip board and I told her I pre-filled out forms, then takes it back and gives me another telling me that I need to TAKE MY OWN VITALS on a machine you find in CVS for blood pressure... wth?? I finally get back there and the doctor's first thing is "who sent you here", like okay hello. I see her, she ignores me trying to go over what is going on, then sends me off for a battery of tests, only to see her again for 2 seconds and says I need labs done and come back in a week. I go to get labs, they take 6 tubes... never in my life have I needed that many, and I did not approve nor was told what I was being tested for. I go to checkout and the lady was ignoring me, and I finally say excuse me right in front of her since she is apparently blind on the sides of her and I ask to checkout. She is dead quiet for like 5 minutes before I was like hello, what is going on? She was like one week come back. I told her when I was free, she booked it and told me to go get labs done. I went online to see more reviews and how mich Dr. Scumpia rips off insurance companies and guess who gets a $3,848 lab bill PLUS $642 claim she also filed for my collaborative 10 minute visit. DO NOT GO. She is frauding insurance companies and tried to convince me my organs were all failing only to find out I am completely fine.
Enough is enough!

I was a patient of Dr. Scumpia for over 10 years. I had Hashimoto's and eventually a nodule turned cancerous. I appreciated her taking an aggressive approach to treatment and honestly she was pretty kind in giving me my diagnosis. The next several years were ok - I spend more time with the PA's then I ever did with her. They kept my levels in check. But after 10 years of being cancer-free, she was still having ultrasounds performed every 6 months. Then I had to start taking my own blood pressure on the machine - who does that?? I'd have to have Walgreens call 2-3 times every single time I needed a refill. Final straw was a very unnecessary test of potential buildup in the cardiac system - not what I was seeing her for and she did not explain the test beforehand. I didn't even know I was having it. I should have stopped it right there and refused the test. I understand it's hard to be a single practitioner these days, but this is unethical in my view.
