I was happily doing a review for Dr. Sengupta, and I had to laugh at the question, “how was your visit?” Which one? There were so many. When your family is hit with a brain tumor diagnosis, you don’t have visits, you have experiences; you don’t have health care providers, you have partners in survival (if you’re lucky). Dr. Sengupta (more than any physician I know) is a partner in survival. Straight talk. Fierce compassion. Unwavering dedication. That’s a hard balance. She lets you know how dire the situation is and simultaneously coaches you into how strong you can be. She became my husband’s doctor, my guide, and a counselor for our entire family on how to live with this reality gracefully.
Dr. Sengupta’s care has no arbitrary boundaries. She holds you as a professional and as a friend. Cancer can be very cruel, but there are gifts. Time to say goodbye. Awareness of the value of time. And for us, the good fortune to cross paths with the brilliant, witty, and kind Soma Sengupta.

I am a Registered Nurse who worked with Dr.Sengupta in Atlanta and she was an absolutely fabulous physician to work with. She always had top notch knowledge that was always backed up with the latest research which was definitely a benefit to the patients. Her dedication to research makes her so unique because you know that you will be always getting the latest treatments out there. She takes her time with the patients and really gets to know them and their families which I loved. I was sad to see her go Atlanta, but hope that her and I can continue to work again soon!

I worked alongside Dr. Sengupta while living in Atlanta, Georgia. We worked in the same clinic-neuro-oncology department at Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute. I’ve seen firsthand, how she cares deeply for her patients and takes extra time with each patient to ensure he or she is properly cared for. Dr. Sengupta is always professional and warm towards her patients and colleagues. She is one of, if not, the best in her field and I would highly recommend her to anyone I know!

Dr. Sengupta is by far the best neuro oncologist in the US. My wife has had a brain tumor that advanced to a GBM for 5 plus years. Simply put, my wife would not be alive if we had not been referred to Dr. Sengupta while she was at Emory. Thankfully, we were able to continue care for my wife when Dr. Sengupta transitioned to UC Health. The time, guidance and experience Dr. Sengupta has given my wife is the best we have received. My wife sees doctors at Duke, Dana Farber, UCLA and obviously UC Health. No one compares to Dr. Sengupta. If only all brain tumor patients could be so fortunate to be cared for by Dr. Sengupta! We love her!

Dr. Sengupta is one of the most caring doctors my adult special needs son has ever had. We were so concerned about him having to transition to an adult doctor because of his age. We were bless to have found Dr. Semgupta!! She made him feel so special and made me as a mother feel he was getting the best care. Even after her move from Atlanta she has kept in touch to check on Brandon. Even though he was no longer her patient she still cares. This speaks volumes. Thank you for always taking such great care of my son.
