Dr. Stanley Deems Braverman, MD

Dr Stanley Braverman performed Lasik surgery on my son at 24 years of age. A full scholarship to college and a bright future ahead of him. Dr. Braverman did not review the required pre tests on his eyes and performed the Lasik. My son is now legally blind and has a serious condition which permanently has caused irreversible cornea damage. He now has major depression and isolation. He attempted suicide. I curse him daily.

He failed to do his ‘due diligence’ and performed surgery. My son is now disabled.

I first went to Dr. Braverman after consulting with another doctor for my cataracts. That doctor promised very little, and I was devastated. Dr. Braverman told me that he could work on both eyes, which was difficult as I hadt had radial keratotomy in the 1980's. I now see 20/25 and can read without glasses. That is truly a miracle! Thank you, Dr. Braverman!

Nothing negative to report..... everything was great. Will make future appointments in Dr. Braverman's office

waste of time

Once you get past the receptionist the rest of the staff was attentive and caring and professional. This office uses students to do all the prep before you see the doctor. You can expect to spend 3-4 hours before finally being seen by the doctor himself. You do get in the front door pretty quick, then have some tests and then you are sent to the TV room with 20 other patients. Bring your lunch because you'll be there a while. The doctor spends 5-8 minutes with you and then you are out the door. The receptionist yesterday was rude, condescending and totally unprofessional and has no customer service skills whatsoever. Our primary was out of town, so we called our insurance company, Humana who advised us a referral was not needed for this speciality and she walked us through the Humana website. We called and made an appointment. We arrived yesterday at our 2pm appointment. The receptionist asked for a referral, we advised her we did not need a referral as we had confirmed same with… Humana. She argued with us and dismissed us. We left, went to our primary down the street. The woman who does referrals at our primary asked if the receptionist looked at our Humana card which details on it no pcp/referrals required. We drove back to Braverman only because our primaryâ??s staff member straightened it out. We got back to Braverman, saw the receptionist again who did not have the common sense to apologize. We finally were called in and met by a student who took all our information, did tests, went back and forth to ask the doctor if he needed any other tests, yes he did, so more tests. Two and a half hours later we saw the doctor. He was quick and thorough and he explained to 3 students standing in the doorway what my case was. He wrote a prescription. Before we left we thanked him and the students and then went on to explain the problem at the front desk. Dr. Braverman started to defend his receptionist and said well they deal with all different types of insurances and there are a lot of rules. He also said she should have her name tag on and also should have taken the insurance card to verify. We advised him she did neither. We explained we had also verified with Humana. We told him she should have apologized after we left and then came back, throwing our appointment an hour later. He said he would speak to her. However, I have my doubts as he knows his staff and knows who it was. If you have time and patience to sit around at least 3-4 hours, have students do all the prep work and deal with rude receptionists then youâ??ll have no surprises. Fool me once, Shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Check their FB page for other reviews too!.

Have been thinking about lasik for awhile and finally decided to check it out for myself. Went to a couple of places, did my research, and found Dr Braverman to be the best. Then I checked with my eye doc and he said Dr Braverman too! What a great experience,fast, easy and very affordable! Best of all, no more contacts and I can see so clear - it is amazing. Highly recommend Dr Braverman! Great Experience.

I wanted LASIK. My husband, who is very thorough, checked out the doctors who do LASIK and said that I should go to Dr. Braverman. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami and had even written a book on all Laser LASIK! I made an appointment for a free screening and was walked thru the process by Rosemary. She was very knowledgeable, down to earth, and answered all of my questions. I met Dr. Braverman during the screening and he said that I was a good candidate, so I came back for the full evaluation. I had LASIK shortly after that. It was scary, but Dr. Braverman talked me thru the procedure and made me feel very comfortable...and the next morning, I was 20/20 without glasses in each eye!! It was a great experience. Dr. Braverman's office is very busy, since there are many eye specialists seeing patients at the office. However, I did not feel like a number, but more like a queen...and treated very professionally! If you need LASIK, this is the… only place to go!!

I needed cataract surgery. my eye doctor told me to go to Dr. Braverman. my wife asked her eye doctor who to go to and he said, Dr. Braverman. I talked to my best friend. He then asked his eye doctor who to go to, and to my amazement, she said Dr. Braverman as well. I went. Dr. Braverman hasd wonderfdul bedside manners and was up on all the latest technology and the different types of catarct surgeries that are available. I made my choice of lens implant after spending half an hour with a wonderful lady named Regina. The surgery was uneventful, and now I can see at distance and near without any glases. That's pretty wonderful, since I wore glasses for forty three years. An amazing experience! I recommend that everyone that needs cataract surgery should go to Dr. Braverman!

There are not enough disgusting words in the English language to describe this guy. He is only interested in your money. He operates on patients and asks them not to follow up with him. He coerces patients into choosing procedures and products not covered by the insurance companies so his pay is not capped, due to him being an in-network provider. Procedures that are meant to be performed in the office (for instance the YAG laser for posterior capsular opacification), he performs at a surgical center he jointly owns, so that his reimbursement for physician fees can be higher, and the surgical center also gets to charge fees which also partly end up in his pockets. The space allocated for comments is not enough to list the atrocities performed by this guy. I will never recommend him to any friend or even my enemy. He is totally an excuse for a human being. I will not be surprised if he ends up in jail for fraud or coughs up a billion dollars for malpractice soon (that's if he hasn't had… million suits against him already that could render him uninsurable). My advice to anyone: RUN AWAY FROM THIS GUY !!!
